Monica and Friends mixtoon cartoons refer to animation videos animated with Moho Pro (the same program used to animate Mongo & Drongo) and made by the YouTube channel mixtoon that features characters from Monica and Friends created by Mauricio de Sousa dealing with characters from various popular franchises/trends that are commonly used for Elsagate, like Poppy Playtime, certain Roblox games like Barry's Prison Run and Rainbow Friends, The Baby in Yellow, the Grimace Shake challenge, and even The Simpsons.
Why These Cartoons
- One of the biggest problems with those animation videos is that they lack all of the charm the original Monica and Friends episodes have. They are just made for money and shows how greedy mixtoon is.
- The animation is horrible and is one of the worst cases of bad Moho Pro animation. It looks cheap, lazy, cringy, choppy, cheesy and poorly-made. Not only this, some episodes are unrendered and were recorded using a recording program instead of rendering it through Moho itself, which causes it to look pixelated and looking like Flash Player with the resolution set to low. This is also pathetic, since Moho Pro can do much better than this.
- The characters are all unlikable and out of character:
- Jimmy Five is a complete idiot who causes a lot of problems, although he can be likable at times.
- Monica is a stupid brat whose only function is to scold Jimmy Five.
- Smudge, while likable, is a punching bag for other characters.
- The voice acting is horrible with Jimmy Five sounding like a 4-year old girl and other charcters sounding annoying, and nothing like their original voices sound on their respective origin media.
- The humor (if you can call that humor) is terrible, gross, and nonsensical.
- The character designs (except Monica, Jimmy Five, Smudge, and Maggy) are either bland, weak, or out-of-place. The fact that these videos are animated in Adobe Flash makes it feel like as if they're animated clipart characters.
Redeeming Qualites
- Some voices like Smudge's voice sound tolerable.
- Some funny moments here and there.
- The animation can look decent for some.
