Why They Fell Off The Bar
- Almost all of the games they made are just shovelware movie/television show tie-in games, with only a couple of exceptions. The worst one being Flushed Away.
- The graphics in their games look terrible, resembling something out of the fifth-generation era rather than late sixth/early seventh generation games like they're supposed to be. Even the ones that use cel-shading, such as Curious George and Dora the Explorer: Journey to the Purple Planet look bad as well.
- The controls in their games are really bad and/or stiff, especially the double jumping. In order to preform it, you have to do the double jump immediately AFTER you do the first jump. This is due to their engine (Vicious Engine) having an issue with double jumping.
- Some of their other games, such as Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2 are also bad, especially the 3DS version, which also has poor graphics and constantly suffers from framerate issues.
- A majority of their games are very short, clocking in at about 2 hours or less, such as Curious George which can be beaten in under one hour, and the aforementioned Dora game only taking about 3 hours.
- Despite this, Despicable Me: The Game costed $45 at launch despite its short amount of content. It was also released for the PlayStation 2 in 2010, when it could have just been released for the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 instead.
- Most of the games they've produced have very simple levels and game mechanics, making it very boring to play.
Redeeming Qualities
- Their games may still be fun to play, especially for younger children.
- They aren't as bad compared to other companies/developers, such as Data Design Interactive and Pheonix Games.
