The Nicktoons Summer July 2014 Block was a block that aired during July 2014 every Saturday on the Nicktoons channel.
Shows That Aired on the Block
- T.U.F.F. Puppy
- Yu-Gi-Oh!
- Wild Grinders (re-runs only)
- Fanboy & Chum Chum (was originally going to air the episode "Brain Freeze" on the block, but was burnt off and moved to the main channel; re-runs only)
- Robot and Monster
- Fred: The Movie trilogy (movies)
Why It Sucked
- It was only made to burn off the final episodes of the shows mentioned above to get them out of the way in favor of more SpongeBob reruns on the main network, and nothing more.
- The promo sounded more like a rap song than an actual promo, which was another attempt at trying to be "hip" and "cool".
- The shows that were aired on the block were either mediocre or just plain bad.
- False advertising: The promo said that it would consist of the final few episodes of the shows above, despite 85% of the block consisting of Wild Grinders reruns.
- It caused many original Nicktoons to get removed from the channel.
- Irony: Whenever it aired movies it usually aired the Fred: The Movie trilogy, in a channel that is called "Nicktoons".
- Before the day of its' debut, the Fanboy & Chum Chum episode, "Brain Freeze" was supposed to be released during the block on July 12, 2014, but was removed from the block and aired on the main Nickelodeon channel on the following day. As a result, it was replaced by a re-run of an already released episode of the said show and an episode of Wild Grinders.
Redeeming Qualities
- T.U.F.F. Puppy, Robot and Monster, and Yu-Gi-Oh! are the only tolerable shows that aired on the block (even then, in the case of the latter, it's questionable since Yu-Gi-Oh! hasn't been redubbed by any company other than 4Kids Entertainment, meaning the various edits such as the infamous finger-guns are still present).
- It was decently advertised.
