T.U.F.F. Puppy is an 2010 American Nickelodeon animated television series created by Butch Hartman, who also did Bunsen is a Beast (after T.U.F.F. Puppy ended), The Fairly OddParents, and Danny Phantom.

Plot

Dudley Puppy joins the Turbo Undercover Fighting Force (T.U.F.F.) to help defeat the evil agents of the Diabolical Order Of Mayhem (D.O.O.M.), run by the wicked Verminious Snaptrap. With the help of the Chief, Kitty Katswell, and the gadget guru Keswick, Dudley does his best to fight his natural puppy urges and keep Petropolis safe.

Why It's T.U.F.F.

  1. The action scenes are incredible and are fun to watch.
  2. The characters are pretty likable such as Dudley, Kitty, The Chief, Keswick and the Villains.
  3. Dudley Puppy himself is pretty funny and a hilarious protagionist.
  4. Excellent voice acting. Jerry Trainor and Grey DeLisle did a very good job on voicing Dudley and Kitty Katswell.
  5. The theme song of the show is catchy and amazing at the same time. It was even written and composed by the late Adam Schlesinger, a member of the band Fountains of Wayne who wrote the song "Stacy's Mom".
  6. Tons of memorable and good episodes like:
    • "Purr-fect Partners"
    • "Toast Of T.U.F.F."
    • "Dog Daze"
    • "Mission: Really Big Mission"
    • "Diary of a Mad Cat"
    • "Great Scott"
    • "Puff Puppy"
    • "T.U.F.F. Break Up" (Which ended the series on a high note).
  7. Very intimidating main antagonists, such as Venimous Snaptrap, The Chameleon, Bird Brain and others.
  8. The animation is actually well done and manages to have the same charm that both Danny Phantom and The Fairly OddParents had.
  9. Hilarious running gags and clever jokes.
  10. The music score is great and manages to have the same charm of music that both Danny Phantom and The Fairly OddParents had.
  11. The series is the only Butch Hartman show that ended on a high note, as his other shows have ended horribly.

Bad Qualities

  1. Despite being premiered in 2010, the show haven't gone HD till the last season.
  2. Kitty gloating about eating the last chocolate doughnut in the snack room towards Dudley in "Watch Dog" can be really blood boiling.
  3. "Sob Story" was a pretty infamous episode of the series for how annoying and it is, and it also felt like "The City of Frownsville" from the original Powerpuff Girls series because of its dreaded synopsis. Plus, it's message is if you cry, you get what you want. We get that it's meant to be part of dumb comedy, but that doesn't excuse anything.
    • "Tíl Doom Do Us Part" is another bad episode which basically destroys Dudley and Kitty's relationship, and Top Dog for showcasing Dudley's flanderization as well as "Bad Eggs" which has a uncomfortable feeling of adbl.
  4. There are some moments where the humor can get a little carried away and repetitive. Like when Kitty gets injured by Dudley so much, that it seems rather pitiful than funny. Likewise, some parts of the entire show can be very cliché and showing little to no identity at times, like Dudley having no intelligence with his childishly happy-go-lucky nature.
  5. Dudley can be pretty annoying at times. A good example would be in "Cruisin For A Bruisin".
  6. Some gross-out content, though it is really rare.
  7. None of the characters received any development and were just left flanderized to become idiotic and unlikeable.
  8. Fans didn't like the character design of Dudley's former love interest Becky, which led to the creation of Daisy from "Girlfriend or Foe?".
  9. The animation, including the character designs, changed a lot.

Reception

Following the show's premiere, the series received mixed reviews from Critics.

The series has a massive fanbase and is considered to be one of the most underrated NickToons of all-time.
