Danny Phantom is a Nickelodeon series created by Butch Hartman. It was produced by Billionfold Studios and distributed in Canada by Nelvana, a Canadian animation company. The show received very positive reviews and was considered one of the best Nickelodeon shows in the 2000s, as well one of Butch Hartman's best shows, right next to T.U.F.F Puppy and The Fairly OddParents.

Why These Seasons Are Going Ghost

1. Both the art style and animation from Rough Draft Studios are splendid and are incredibly well done, it helps that it is the same as The Fairly OddParents but more improved.
   • The art style and character designs, which are the same as Butch Hartman's first show, The Fairly OddParents, are still awesome and visually appealing.
2. Cool music, including the catchy opening and ending songs, performed by both Derick Battiste and Guy Moon, which are mainly interesting to hear as a ghastly theme song. Also, Guy Moon is well-known for composing various music for various Nickelodeon shows such as The Fairly OddParents, this show, and ChalkZone.
3. Likable and memorable characters, with decent character development, such as the Fentons (Danny himself, his sister Jazz, and their parents Jack & Maddie), Sam Manson, Tucker Foley, Valerie Gray, Clockwork, Danielle "Dani" Phantom, and Frostbite.
   • Memorable villains like Skulker, Freakshow, Dan Phantom, Technus, Ember, Johnny 13, Pariah Dark, Walker, Spectra, Desiree, the Box Ghost, Kitty, the Lunch Lady Ghost, and of course, Vlad Plasmius, being a solid and intimidating villain along with Dark Danny/Dan Phantom, Danny Phantom's evil counterpart, despite only being in one episode.
4. It has some memorable TV films and/or specials, such as "Fright Night" (the Halloween special), "Reign Storm", "The Ultimate Enemy", "The Fright Before Christmas" (the Christmas special), and "Reality Trip" (also promoted as "School's Out, Ghouls Out").
5. Outstanding story of each episode with several over-arching stories across the series.
6. Many action scenes to see. As an example for this superhero-themed animated series, Danny saves his hometown known as Amity Park from the ghastly incidents by fighting the destructive villains off as they happened to the plot of every single episode. So it makes the show maturely well-received, unlike Cartoon Network's horrible superhero cartoon reboots.
7. It's one of the very few Nickeloden's serious and mature cartoon which makes this really unique.
8. Despite its serious tone there are still some occasional funny humor that doesn't feel forced.
9. Well-talented voice acting. Mostly motable David Kaufman who is notably fluent to hear for voicing the main character in the animated TV series.

Bad Qualities

1. While the art style is really great, the color palette, while not bad, can be very washed out and tends to be dull at times.
2. The last and third season, while not necessarily bad, it suffered a minor dip in quality, especially because of low budget nick had at the time the season aired.
3. Even ignoring the third season, these seasons also had occasional bad/mediocre episodes like "Splitting Images", "King Tuck", and "Double Cross My Heart".
4. Of all the six main characters, Sam herself, while not a terrible character by any means, is nevertheless debatably the least tolerable due to how selfish and hypocritical she can really be and gets no punishment for it. For example, she yells at Danny for spying on her with a date, even though in a previous episode she did the same solely out of jealousy, while Danny thought said the date was evil. Another was that she gets mad at Danny for using his ghost powers to defend himself from Dash and derides it as selfish, but in another episode, she intentionally wrecks a car dealership for selling environmentally destructive cars.
5. Some of the secondary characters are very intolerable, with Dash Baxter and Paulina Sanchez being the worst offenders.
   • Speaking of Dash Baxter, he is a rip-off of Flash Thompson, and only receives a bare minimum amount of punishment for his bullying, toxically masculine.
6. It has a lot of cliches, some of which aren't done very well.

Reception

Danny Phantom has received critical acclaim, with praise primarily directed at its ensemble cast and comic book-influenced themes and storyline. Hartman himself has noted that the series is arguably his most popular and acclaimed work, despite its relatively short production life compared to Fairly OddParents. Danny Phantom has spawned video games, home video releases, as well as toys and various other merchandise.

The episode, “The Ultimate Enemy”, is generally considered the best and darkest episode in the entire series, with Danny's evil counterpart from the future "Dan Phantom" being considered the evilest and most menacing villain in the show.
