Number 11: I Will Continue Shooting (Japanese:撮影は続くよどこまでも Satsuei wa Tsuzuku yo Doko Made mo) is the eleventh episode of Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger.
Synopsis
Around the world, the Phantom Thieves have been gaining increasing attention. Hilltop starts to feel insecure about the thieves’ new widespread presence so he asks Keiichiro to make a PR movie for the Global Police. Sakuya is really invested in this project, while both Keiichiro and Tsukasa don’t really seem to care. Sakuya starts to have anxiety when he feels that his performance won’t be commended by either Keiichiro or Tsukasa. Just when the director starts the shoot, Sakuya’s hair starts to grow longer and longer. Sakuya has… become a girl?! Could this be the work of a Gangler?!
Why It Continues To Be Shot At This Episode
- The idea of changing a gender of a character, might be a great concept however here it was executed extremely badly turning into a stupid, atrocious and cringe-worthy episode.
- This is one of the episodes where Sakuya is at his worst, not to mention being all thrilled to act in a movie, that no one seems to give some care about, and not to mention later on he felt anxious because his performance won't be appreciated by one of his seniors, and even stating once they gain popularity he'll get the girls' attention, not to mention he even stated that getting chicks is part of his reason of joining the GSPO, That's a truly an reliable cop, folks.
- The scene where Sakuya was turned into a girl was extremely disturbing, and the scenes where he tried hard to act like a girl, was just plain irritating, as most women DON'T tend to do those types of actions.
- The MoTw (Pitch-Cock), instead of portraying a humorous yet threatening villain, is just another failed experiment that TOEI created that ended up as a failed pedophilia stereotype.
- Pitch-Cock's revelation was extremely stupid, as it could really be suspected that Pitch-Cock himself was the director due his actions being done, and even stating that acting all strange when Keiichiro and Tsukasa got their genders swapped, not to mention he insisted on Sakuya needing more sex appeal in a "different" manner, until out of the blue it was the camera man when in general there were no hints to be found within the Cameraman, and there were no scenes regarding the cameraman being all thrilled on swapping the Patranger's gender.
- Hammer Dial Fighter, is probably the most wasted Auxiliary mech to exist in this show, and the fact that there were no foreshadowing about this particular auxiliary mech, nor silhouettes is just stupid, and it only happened when Blade Dial Fighter got it's "gender" swapped, it could have been a neat addition to the arsenal if it had a different approach of arrival, but being shown that it only existed through that particular reason is absolutely stupid.
Redeeming Qualities
- The scene where Sakuya stated in a flashback that he idolized both of his seniors so he worked hard just to be the best he could, even though at some point he could be falling behind, is quite heartwarming, and is one of his faint character developments.
- Ignoring the disturbing gender swapped scenes, there are a few hilarious scenes to be found within this episode, such as the scene where the Lupinrangers blew their cover for laughing at "Sakimi" (Sakuya), and the scene where Tsukasa stated that Keiichiro can't act, and Keiichiro stating that Tsukasa isn't suitable for the movie.
