"One + One = Ed" is the 4th episode of Season 2 and the 30th episode of Ed, Edd n Eddy.
Plot
The Eds decide to learn what things are made of by taking them apart. Their imaginations eventually take over and reality is bent in a surrealistic manner.
Why It's One + One = Ed
- The start was very funny, with Ed entering Eddy's bedroom and messing around with his lamp and the kitchen fridge.
- The plot is very interesting and educational, and in a way inspired the original Powerpuff Girls episode, "Divide and Conquer", as it has the Eds learning what things are made of by taking them apart.
- The fable Rolf tells the Eds about the ugly boy and tree of heads was also interesting and impressive.
- Lots of funny moments/quotes, such as:
- "Hey Eddy, carrots are good for eyes. Can they dial a phone?"
- "Hello, light. Hello, light. Hello, light."
- Ed yelling "Follow the leader!" when jumping on Eddy's head
- "Look at me run!"
- Ed messing around in Eddy's house as mentioned above
- Eddy's one "Woo-hoo, PG-13!" when pulling out Ed's mother's bra, then gets grossed out when Ed pointed it that it's the latter's mom's.
- The parts in which Eddy manages to actually eat the Sun and pulls a thread on Jimmy's shirt to reveal his outline is extremely impressive, along with Ed cutting a circle with a chainsaw only to reveal the Kanker Sisters having a bath.
- The twisted and messed up universe the Eds come across looks very cool and well detailed.
- Good Ending: The Eds end up in the normal universe again to see the cul-de-sac kids, Jimmy asks "Can't we all just get along?", Ed welcomes back Jimmy and his sister and although Sarah chases him, himself along with Double D and Eddy did see it coming since they pull Jimmy's thread to reveal his outline and take away Sarah's lip earlier on.
Reception
- It holds a rating of 8.3/10 on IMDB.
Trivia
- The Three-Headed Rolf scene and saying his "many doors" quote became an internet meme.
