Oops, I Did It Again is the second half of the fourth episode in the sixth season of The Powerpuff Girls.

Plot

The Professor dreams he had made three normal little girls after realizing all of his successes are mere accidents.

Why It Goes Oopsie With A Capital O

  1. It's just a filler episode of the Professor dreaming of him having three perfect girls when realizing his mistakes, even though the accidents made the girls be able to fight crime and stop evil, which was what the show was great for.
  2. Speaking of which, the Run of the Mill Girls are just your generic girly stereotypes rather than crime-fighting heroes. To add further insult to injury, their physical appearances are based on redesigns that Craig McCracken briefly considered for Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup in response to negative reactions from the test audiences for the What A Cartoon! pilots.
  3. Continuity error: While it's true that Professor Utonium can be a rather absent-minded scientist, this episode implies that Utonium was too incompetent to invent great things on purpose, just for the sake of him having an "accidental scientist" insecurity. In truth, there have been several episodes where he invented working creations on purpose:
    • While the Dynamo robot from "Uh Oh Dynamo" did destroy the city after he purposely created it with no missteps, this Powerpuffs likely would have been unable to defeat or even battle the giant fish balloon monster without the Dynamo robot, meaning the robot was actually very useful.
    • In "Get Back Jojo," Professor Utonium brought a time machine/portal he presumably invented on purpose with him to parents show and tell day in the girls' class.
    • In “PowerProf., he purposely built a super-suit with flying and enhanced strength abilities to fight crime with the girls, and it actually worked pretty well.
    • In "Nano of the North", he used a device he purposely created to shrink the girls down to miniature size so they could fight the miniature nano robots taking over the city.
    • In "Bubblevicious", he had that entire battle simulation chamber for the girls to train in fighting monsters with multiple difficulty levels for.
  4. That infamous moment where the girls just stared at the Professor for 15 seconds.
  5. Plot Hole: Since when did the Professor work at a pizza place? Then again, the scene takes place during the Professor's dream, so this can be mildly excused.
  6. Once again, the Mayor still can't open his pickle jar even in a different universe.
  7. Ms. Keane said that the class was going to have a Career Day talk but it was helping the Mayor open his pickle jar, which is not supposed to be the announcement of the said event.
  8. The girls do not even feel remorseful to the Professor when he's sad.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. The Powerpuff Girls with different personalities seemed creative, despite the poor execution.
  2. There is some continuity referenced from the season 1 episode, "Uh Oh Dynamo" when the girls mentioned to the Professor about Powerpuff Dynamo being an intentional invention he created that destroyed Townsville.
  3. Good Ending: The Professor wakes up to see the real girls again, accidentally dropping another potion of Chemical X and says, "Oops, I did it again".
