باب اسفنجی (Bab Esfanji) (eng. Sponge Bob) is/are an illegal dub(s) of Spongebob Squarepants. It aired on multiple channels and first aired in Afghanistan, later airing in Iran and Tajikistan.

- Like other Persian dubs of cartoons, they were illegally made without Nickelodeon nor Paramount's permission and are yet still airing.
- The instrumentals are used with a vocal remover, thus making it crusty and low quality.
- While replacing Sandy's indoor wear and the Bikini Bottomites bikinis with regular clothing is understandable due to Iranian laws, the way they handle it is a bit rushed and poor.
- But not only did they replace Sandy's bikini, but they also tried to remove Sandy's bikini, resulting in Sandy looking awkward while topless since you can still see the breasts shape.
- This dub somehow spawned four bootleg unlicensed movies without Paramount's consent, known as the SpongeBob in Tehran Tetralogy. To the surprise of absolutely no one, all of those films sucked and were bad.
- There are also sounds and music stolen from other media without consent.
- Inconsistent voice acting that ranges from decent to poor.
- Poor lip-syncing with no editing provided.
- In the Persian Toon dub, the songs are left badly voice-covered.

- The comedy is still here in this dub, meaning that kids from Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan can still enjoy SpongeBob's comedy.
- The MBC Persia dub and the IRIB TV2 are the only dubs that are legal.
- The "logo" of this dub is well-edited a bit.
- The dub can be very funny at times.
- The Bikini Bottomites' dresses are decently animated.
