Plot

SpongeBob adopts a stray worm who gives birth to worm babies overnight.

Why It's a Pest

  1. The episode is really gross and lacks any good humor.
  2. The stray worm(who SpongeBob and Patrick name Mrs. Wormsley) has, with out a doubt, one of the most creepiest Aaron Springer's designs and looks nothing like a worm. In addition to her having fairly long insect-like legs at the bottom(which doesn't make sense considered that worms don't have legs), her face looks WAY too out-of-place and looks like a completely different animal and looks more like something out of a Ren & Stimpy.
    • Give Puffy Fluffy from Casey Alexander and Zeus Cervas's episode "A Pal for Gary" some point of credit at least he has an imitating design as terrifying as it is, not to mention he started off decent.
      • Mrs. Wormsley's babies are also very gross, despite being given such cute voices made for them.
  3. The scene where Mrs. Wormsley getting pregnant all the while howling is really disgusting and out-of-place in a SpongeBob episode.
  4. Gary chases away Mrs. Wormsley and made her abandon her babies. He also gets no comeuppance for his actions.
  5. Patrick refuses to help SpongeBob find a new home for the baby worms and leaves him to handle them for the rest of the episode.
    • There's even a somewhat harsh scene where Mr. Krabs angrily tells SpongeBob to take the "disgusting vermin" out of his restaurant for spitting goo at him (though the latter was somewhat correct about it), resulting to SpongeBob crying.
  6. There is only one annoying one-time gag where SpongeBob rings Mrs. Puff's doorbell for a full 33 seconds.
  7. Continuity error: Larry appears to have no idea who SpongeBob is, despite the two being friends in older episodes.
    • Speaking of Larry, there the infamous scene where he was going to eat all of the baby worms due to raw protein, and keep in mind that worms are supposed to be dogs in the series, so that would've meant that Larry almost ate newborn puppies, which is gross, inhumane and apathetic.
  8. Stupid ending: When a garbage man says that these worms are valuable and worth a fortune, Mr. Krabs sells them for six dollars, even though he wanted nothing to do with the baby worms a moment earlier, making Mr. Krabs a hypocritical doofus.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. The scene were Mrs. Wormsly brushes her head on SpongeBob's hand after the later rubs her back with his finger is a very sweet moment.
  2. There are a few funny moments such as Patrick telling SpongeBob "Something tells me that Mr. Wormsley, is actually...a MRS. Wormsly!".
  3. Despite annoyingly ringing the doorbell, SpongeBob is likable as he tries to give the baby worms a new home.
    • He even dismantles a truck to save the baby worms from getting run over by it, which is heroic.
