Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue is the eighth season of the Power Rangers franchise based on Kyuukyuu Sentai GoGoFive.
Bad Qualities
- Possibly some of the least likable Rangers team in the franchise's history (at least, before The Neo Saban era), with Chad's arrogance and prideful nature, and Kelsey was nothing but an over competitive brat.
- Poor acting.
- Vypra is one of the worst villains of the Power Rangers franchise, and her acting is terrible.
- Speaking of her, she returned in the Time Force episode "Time for Lightspeed".
- Boring scenarios that get numbing to watch petty quickly.
- Weak comedy which compares to the first 5 seasons of Power Rangers.
- Their crossover with Power Rangers Time Force was awful, despite the fact of Time Force was an amazing season.
- The Evil Ryan arc was a rip-off of the Green with Evil arc.
- Useless cartoon sound effects.
- Overuse of Egyptian fables, which are obviously a jab at Haim Saban’s Jewish-Muslim nature.
- Just like their counterpart, somewhat mediocre suit designs. They sometimes tend to show the person inside it in the Sentai Footage.
Good Qualities
- Some likable characters like Carter, Joel, Ryan, Diabolico, Dana and Prince Olympius.
- While the Lightspeed Rescue Rangers' costumes are generic, the Titanium Ranger costume looks Cool.
- The Megazords of this season are really cool.
- Queen Bansheera is a super intimidating main antagonist to the Lightspeed Rescue Rangers.
- The acting is passable.
- Catchy theme song.
- Some good episodes like "The Cobra Strikes", "Trakeena's Revenge", and "The Fate of Lightspeed".
- The next season, Power Rangers Time Force will become a big improvement.
- At least this season isn't as terrible as the Neo-Saban Era.
- This is the first Power Rangers show of the millennium (if you use 2000 as the start of the 3rd millennium)
Trivia
- This is the first season to feature an American-made Power Rangers-exclusive Ranger with no Super Sentai counterpart, in the form of the Titanium Ranger, designed by PLEX. The lack of a Sentai counterpart is the chief reason behind Titanium Ranger's long absence and losing his powers, since in the long-term, making new footage only for him as well as using Sentai footage of the main five Rangers would have caused the series to go over-budget as such.
- This is the only season to date to feature an American-exclusive Sixth Ranger.
