Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 (French: Rayman Contre les Lapins Encore + Crétins) is a party video game developed and published by Ubisoft. The sequel to Rayman Raving Rabbids and the second installment of the Raving Rabbids spin-off franchise, it was released for the Wii and Nintendo DS platforms worldwide in 2007. It follows the Rabbids' attempt to invade Earth, with their headquarters set up near a local shopping mall. Players have the option to play as a Rabbid or as Rayman, who has disguised himself as a Rabbid to infiltrate their plans. This is the first Rayman game to have an E10+ rating by the ESRB, a greater emphasis on simultaneous multiplayer gameplay compared to the original game, and online leaderboards. It was followed by Rayman Raving Rabbids: TV Party in 2008.

Why It Deserves To Travel Around The Earth

  1. Unlike most other live action video games like fmv games like night trap and corpse killer it features the awesome big city fights where you can play rayman saving realistic humans from rabbids captured by cameras in real life cities.
  2. The graphics are really good and are even better than the first game (with the exception of their Xbox 360 and PS2 versions), as the graphics are colorful and the characters models are solid as always.
  3. Lot of funny moments in the mini games, to the point of being even more funnier than the first game, especially in one of the mini game that involve both Rayman and the Rabbids to not lauch in a cinema, which is really funny to see.
  4. Solid controls, since they are responsive and the motion controls are even better than in the first game.
  5. Fun mini games that are just as good as the previous game, it help that they are playable from the start in comparison to it's predecessors.
  6. Great soundtrack.
  7. The cutscenes are pretty good for it's time, especially the cutscene where Rayman try to sneak in the Rabbids base and get caught, and in one moment of the cutscene, you can see one of the Rabbid having the first Raving Rabbids game box for the Wii in his hand where he look Rayman on it and the real Rayman that got caught, which is a nice touch and is funny.
  8. Much like the first game, you can unlock costumes, and they are good and sometime hilarous, notably some of the costumes for the Rabbids.

"BWAAAAH!" Qualities

  1. The DS port is inferior, as it had weaker graphics (obviously) and had mini games that are downgraded from the Wii version.
    • Also, Rayman is mostly absent in that port and the DS version is even shorter, lasting 1h40m, although some peoples might still like the port since it isn't completely bad and is still better than the awful DS port of the third game.
  2. Once again, the game is very short, since it last for only 2 hours, even the first game was longer than this, as that one could be completed in 3 hours.
  3. Unlike it's Predessecor and like it's two sucessors it's only a Wii exclusive.

Reception

Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 received positive reviews by critics and fans, and is considered to be the best Raving Rabbids game in the trilogy and the best Rabbids game on the Wii along with Rabbids Go Home, on Metacritic it received a score of 67/100 for the Wii[1] and 57/100 for the DS version.[2]

Trivia

  • This is the first Rabbid Game in which The Rabbids are playable characters.
  • This is the last time that this game used the models of The Rabbids and Rayman, as their models (Not Rayman) Change in Rayman Raving Rabbids: TV Party.
  • This is also marks the last Playable Appearance of Rayman in a Rabbid Game. (until Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, in the DLC named "Rayman in the Phantom Show")
  • Most of the Minigames from the DS version are from the Wii version of the first game.
  • This is the only Rayman Raving Rabbids game that does not have epilogue unlike 1 and TV Party.
  • However some of the Minigames are from the Wii version of the same name while others have the same controls to the DS version of the first game.
  • The minigames from the Wii version have two glitches to discovered:
  • In the minigame "Shopping cart downhill", the Rabbid's mouth dosen't move when it approches to the snow hill.
  • In the minigame "Rabbid School" there is a glitch where the third rabbid disappears.
  • The minigame "Singin' in the rain" is a parody of the song of the same name.
  • The game parodies a lot of pop culture in it's costumes which references movies, video games, and more like Spider-Man, Splinter Cell, TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Spongebob Squarepants, and many more.
  • The Japan version of this game has a song that replaces "Teenager in Love", called, "Kore Ga Watashi No Ikiru Michi".
  • Originally, there was going to be 4 extra costumes for the game; Spongebob, Harry Potter, Mario, and Jack Sparrow, which unfortunately were scrapped at the final version. The Spongebob costume came back but only the hat, which can be unlocked in Swimsuit Edition.
  • In the opening cutscene, the game Professor Barranco 3 is holding is the PAL version of Rayman Raving Rabbids.
