Riches and Rages is an episode from the second season of Power Rangers Dino Charge, Power Rangers Dino Super Charge, it is the eighth episode of that season and is overall the twenty-eighth (thirtieth if counting the two Holiday Special episodes) episode of the Power Rangers Dino Charge series.

Overview

When Ivan accidentally destroys a knight armor suit that was meant to be sold by Mr. Smith, the Rangers must now get enough money to pay Mr. Smith to prevent their museum from being taken down, meanwhile Heckyl has created a chimera monster called Spell Digger to cause greed to other people.

Why It Sucks

1. This episode is very mean-spirited, mainly due to how characters act greedy for money.
2. It is also a complete rip-off of The Garfield Show episode, "Odie for Sale", which even itself is not a good episode.
3. This whole episode is unfairly mean-spirited to the Rangers.
4. Mr. Smith is an extremely unlikeable character, even though, Ivan accidentally destroys the suit, he demands more money or else he will take down their museum.
5. Spell Digger is a wasted concept of a great monster, a chimera monster was a neat idea and would have ultralize come creative aspects like using the powers from other monsters, but all Spell Digger amounts to is creating coins that when touch by a person will cause greed.
   • On that topic, Spell Digger is also an extremely lazy chimera monster, most chimera monsters previously have a very fusion-like appearance in them, but Spell Digger is literary just Spellbinder's body (minus the cape) with Gold Digger's head and his pickaxe for a weapon.
6. Heckyl plan makes absolutely no sense, how is making people greedy an evil plan to take over the world?
7. Ivan is a complete idiot in this episode, for example, instead of finding a cohesive way to get money (such as a job, a yard sale, or even labor), Ivan literary tries to rob a bank, which is not a bright move.
8. Mr. Smith never gets punished for his cruel actions to the Rangers.
9. The whole episode feels very out of place, and feels more like an episode that belongs in another show like Ed, Edd, Eddy or Henry Danger.
10. The whole plot of this episode is (as described in the Overview section) about the Rangers trying to pay bills. When where and how did the show go from five teenagers that pilot giant robots to stop evil aliens that want to take over the world to a show about characters trying to get money to not lose their museum?
11. This episode has a plot-hole: In the ending of the episode, the Ranger is able to pay their bills with the help of Prince Philip III, but why didn't they think of doing that earlier?
12. There is way too much story in this episode, one side focuses on the Rangers trying to get money, and another side is the Rangers trying to stop Spell Digger.
13. Unfortunately, you can't say that this episode is (for the most part) non-canon, as it does get foreshadowed in the Power Rangers Dino Charge episode "A Fools Hour" where Sledge plans on using Spell Binder's pendent later, and if you think that you can skip that episode, think again since that episode also introduces the Dino Spike, which is an ability that they use to finish off most monsters.
    • However, that can be neglected as you can watch that episode, then skip the scene involving Sledge and Wrench seeing the pendant. So you can potentially say that Riches and Rages are non-canon.
14. The ending was stupid, as It shows Ivan being chased by Mrs. Sandra after Ivan being refused to take the check from Mr. Smith.

Redeeming Qualities

1. The action scenes are entertaining.
2. There are a few funny moments.
3. The ending, despite was awful, It is somewhat decent and funny.
4. While Riches and Rags (for the most part) is canon, at least Mr. Smith doesn't reappear in future episodes.
