A sequel to a poorly received game with a failed franchise is not a good idea.

Rise 2: Resurrection, also known as Rise of the Robots 2 or Resurrection: Rise 2, is the 1996 sequel to Rise of the Robots, released for the PlayStation, Sega Saturn, and PC.
Plot
The Supervisor has eliminated Coton, assimilating him into her own consciousness. The Supervisor uses his mind to enhance both herself and her robot army. As a last resort, Electrocorp unleashes the Anarchy Virus on the robot army, causing them to turn on each other.
In the chaos, Coton, who is still conscious, uploads himself into one of the robots and continues his mission to destroy the Supervisor and retake Metropolis 4.
Why It Shouldn't Be Resurrected
- Terrible graphics on the PlayStation and Sega Saturn versions.
- Broken AI. While they are no longer susceptible to being "kicked to death" like in the first game, they have a tendency to endlessly hop over you if you're far enough from them, or not moving at all if you duck. Not only that, they can easily spam projectile attacks at will.
- The combos (known in-game as "Chaos") are too hard to use. A projectile attack, which should be simple, becomes hard to pull off because you need to press forward and punch at the exact same time.
- None of the story is featured in the actual game: It only appears in the manual, which in itself explains way too much story.
- This game does not have character-specific endings.
- The game is too short, lasting only 20 to 30 minutes.
- The controls are really poor, despite being a bit more improved, as they are unresponsive or stiff at best, making this game quite boring, even when compared to the first game.
- Weak attacks for some of the fighters.
Redeeming Qualities
- The game is a improvement over the first game especially considering it has better controls and more polished gameplay with higher speed and more dynamic moves.
- The game's graphics are very good in most PC versions of the game are quite detailed by 1996 standards, from the colourful backgrounds to the fluid digitized sprites based on the 3D animation of the characters.
- The music is very good as well, especially the song Cyborg by Brian May.
- The roster is quite decent, especially compared to the first game.
