Screentime is the first half of the second episode of Ren & Stimpy (2024).
Plot
Ren gives Stimpy a smartphone, just to distract him, although Stimpy becomes so obsessed with the phone to the point of becoming consumed by said phone, until Ren decides to step in.
Why There Is No Screen Time
- The episode is a rip-off of My Shiny Friend from the Games Animation era, where the plot of this episode rips off the plot of the episode already mentioned, but swaps the TV for the cell phone, where there is a risk of the episode becoming dated in the coming years. This, along with Aw Hell No! are the worst offenders of the reboot's episodes written by Jenny Jafre.
- This episode can also be seen as a rehash of The Fairly OddParents episode "App Trap", as both episodes involve a character being obsessed with their cell phone. The only difference is that Timmy is replaced with Stimpy.
- As usual with this reboot, the animation is awful, mainly with the original poses Ren and Stimpy have in this episode and they look very horribly drawn.
- It brings a horrible moral lesson where using and being obsessed with a cell phone turns you into a "monster", which is not true since cell phones don't turn people as monsters.
- The cell phone possessed version of Stimpy is very creepy and dark.
- Bad ending where Ren gets stuck in Stimpy's belly, which is vore, which is disgusting and shows a certain hypocrisy from the writer who wrote this episode, who is okay with this nasty fetish in the reboot and yet removed the implication that both of them are gay.
- Wasted potential like how they were in 2020s and how they could have teach how too much phone time is bad for vision, communication and myopia.
- As mentioned in #5, Jafre is hypocritical as she removed things like Ren and Stimpy are gay. Yet, she referenced the episode Stimpy's Pregnant with the disgusting vore at the end!
- Speaking of Ren and Stimpy not being gay in this reboot, as shown in this episode, they sleep now in separate beds, which is unnecessary, because fans never had a problem with Ren and Stimpy sleeping in the same bed.
- This episode can be seen as insulting to kids or adults who use their phone a lot, especially to 2020s kids and adults who are on their phone way too much. Attracting to objects (let alone phones) do not turn you into monsters!
The Only Redeeming Quality
- The title card at least is good and detailed.

- Some clips and the title card of this episode were leaked on December 31, 2023 on 4chan. The entire episode was later leaked also on 4chan on July 21, 2024.
