Sh-h-h-h-h-h is 1955 short directed by Tex Avery and produced by Walter Lantz. It was the fourth and final cartoon Tex Avery directed at Walter Lantz Productions.

Plot

A stressed-out jazz band member gets a doctor's order for a quiet place where he can relax, but he ends up having problems with his neighbor who won't stop making noise.

Bad Qualities

1. It's nothing more than a full 6-minute torture episode for the protagonist of this short, Mr. Twiddle.
2. The constant laughter and trumpet music that plays throughout the rest of the short is very irritating and can get on your nerves easily.
3. Some scenes aren't quite logical because when Mr. Twiddle is interacting with his neighbor, one moment he's next to his door and another moment he's outside in front of the neighbor's door.
   • At the beginning of the short, the owner of the hotel says that noise is not allowed there, but minutes later Mr. Twiddle's neighbor begins to make noise, because he wasn't kicked out of the hotel or got a warning for making so much noise?
4. Cruel ending: After finally going crazy, Mr. Twiddle asks to call a doctor, then he discovers that his noisy neighbor is his doctor, making him angry and causing him to dies after literally exploding in rage.
5. The doctor and nurse were never punished for making their patient angry.
6. This short ended Tex Avery's direction of the Golden Age of Animation on a mediocre note.

Good Qualities

1. A few funny jokes here and there.
2. The first few minutes of the short are in good shape.
3. Mr. Twiddle is a pleasant character.
