"Sharko Hunting" (French: "Chasse au Sharko") is the thirty-third episode from season one of Zig & Sharko. It was written by Olivier Jean-Marie and storyboarded by Christophe Leborgne.

Plot

A Japanese whaling ship tries to catch Sharko, which is A-OK with Zig, who is not only going to help them, but of course take advantage of their presence in order to catch the mermaid…with no success of course…"

Why It Should Hunt The Ship Instead

  1. It's a torture episode for Sharko because he is constantly chased by the Japanese whaling ship, even when the latter did get throw out by Sharko they continue.
  2. This episode is incredibly mean-spirited to Sharko because when he get shot, the villains laugh at him, which off course make him extremely angry, and even when they get beat up by Sharko they did not learn their lesson.
  3. Like most bad season 1 episodes, Zig had terrible plans to eat Marina, such as when he did try to eat her when Sharko was just there.
    • Howewer his plan of try to get her when Sharko was captured was a pretty decent idea but it fail due to his stupidity.
  4. Plot Holes:
    • How does Zig did enter to the ship to laugh at Sharko ? This is never explained, likely due to the 7 minutes running time.
    • How does Sharko did get captured ? Especially that in many other episodes he did get out of much more dangerous situation than here.
  5. Bernie, while that he appear in two scenes, he serve no purpose in this episode, and doesn't help Zig with his plans, howewer it was common for him to be absent in the season 1 episodes.
  6. Zig is also out of character since when Sharko did get captured, he laugh at him, didn't he learn his lesson from the guys getting beat up?
  7. Misleading Title: Despite that the ship try to hunt Sharko down for creating foods, this episode don't focus on Sharko hunting something but rather it focus on him getting hunt, howewer the French original title does had a correct title though.
  8. The guys from the ship are somewhat Japanese stereotype, especially with their voices who had a racist Japanese accent, in which even Oggy and the Cockroaches don't had any racist stereotypes.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Sharko and Marina are the only likable characters.
  2. Zig plan after Sharko was hunt down is passable, even if it did once again fail.
