Shut the Pup Up is the second half of the first episode in the fifth season of The Powerpuff Girls.

Plot

After witnessing a crime, Talking Dog stays at the girls' house as part of a witness protection program. The girls try to ask him about the crime, but all he does is insult everyone by mistake.

Why It Should Shut Up

  1. The Talking Dog is very unlikable in this episode, as when the girls try to get information from how he witnessed the crime. He just insulted everyone throughout the entire episode.
  2. As mentioned in WISSU#1, it's kind of a torture episode for the girls, as they can't sleep much, thanks to the Talking Dog insulting them, and he ate the girls' pancakes without asking.
  3. Although likable, the girls don't go save the day until the last minute, but then again, it was because of the Talking Dog explaining more information each night.
  4. Although everyone else got mad at the Talking Dog insulting them, the Mayor somehow was still happy when he said he could barely see his rotten teeth under his mustache.
  5. The pacing is very slow, as mentioned above in WISSU#1.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. The girls are still likable characters, as they try to ask the Talking Dog the information of the witnessed crime and find out the criminal when he fully explained.
  2. The dog insulting everyone can be justified due to him witnessing a crime.
  3. Good Ending: The girls go to the place the dog witnessed the crime, bring the thieves to their house, and so the dog leaves.
