It was released on October 17, 2017 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. It was later ported to the Nintendo Switch in 2018.

Plot

The new kid becomes a member of Coon and Friends in an effort to develop their superhero franchise, but with a growing rift against the rival Freedom Pals franchise and crime rising in South Park, they must work together to take it down.

Why It's Anything but Fractured or Whole

  1. You can create your own character like in The Stick of Truth.
  2. You get to play as even more characters for a whopping total of 12: Stan (Toolshed), Kyle (Human Kite), Kenny (Mysterion), Cartman (The Coon), Wendy (Call Girl), Butters (Professor Chaos), Jimmy (Fastpass), Clyde (Mosquito), Craig (Super Craig), Scott (Captain Diabetes), Tweek (Wonder Tweek), and Token (Tupperware), and if you include the DLC characters: Henrietta Biggle and Bradley Biggle (Mintberry Crunch), you have a total of 14 different playable characters.
  3. The combat system improves greatly upon the original. It has a similar play-style to MegaMan: Battle Network, except it's turn-based. You can move your character around the battle area and each attack has a different range, adding some more strategy into the combat.
  4. Much like The Stick of Truth, and a few others, the game's graphics rank right up there with the show's animation style.
  5. Just like The Stick of Truth, it feels just like the South Park television series with every character and references to the past 21 seasons, it dates all the way back from season 21, including some that haven't appeared in years.
  6. Interesting and unique dialogue between characters, depending on who's on the battlefield with you.
  7. Many, many hilarious lines.
  8. It's double the length of The Stick of Truth.
    • With the DLC missions included, it's almost three times the length.
  9. You can change your character's race, religion and gender anytime in the game.
  10. The side quests are a lot more fun in this game.
  11. It came bundled with a free copy of The Stick of Truth, when you pre-ordered the game for all platforms.
  12. One of the few times in the South Park franchise where Kenny's voice isn't muffled.
  13. The game is more challenging than its predecessor.
  14. Both of the DLC missions are well worth spending your money on.
    • From Dusk 'Til Casa Bonita, a homage to the 1996 Robert Rodriguez/Quentin Tarantino horror-comedy movie, From Dusk 'Til Dawn, has the new kid teaming up with Mysterion, the Coon and Henrietta Biggle to save Mysterion's sister, Karen, from the Vamp Kids at the, "Casa Bonita", Mexican restaurant.
    • Bring the Crunch, a parody of '80s slasher flicks like Friday the 13th and Sleepaway Camp, sees the new kid join forces with Fastpass, Professor Chaos and Mintberry Crunch, to uncover the truth behind the mysterious disappearances of camp counselors at Lake Tardicaca.

Bad Qualities

  1. Some fans may find the story weaker compared to that of The Stick of Truth.
  2. The boss fight against Spontaneous Bootay could be considered a massive difficulty spike due to how her only attack is an instant-kill move and you encounter her pretty early in the game.
  3. The concept for the main antagonist is pretty stupid.
  4. The final boss is a huge let-down compared to the three bosses before it.
  5. The ending is abrupt, and the entire plot thread about returning Scrambles the cat is never mentioned again.
  6. There are some glitches.
  7. There are times where the characters constantly blame the player for the situation they're in, even if it was out of their control, which comes off as incredibly mean-spirited.
  8. You can't visit Canada anymore, though there's a good reason why.
