Spice Game is the 5th episode of the 3rd season of Teen Titans Go!.

Synopsis

Tired of Robin's bland cooking, the other four Titans try to make their food spicier with various spices.

Not So Spicy Qualities

  1. Firstly, the premise of this episode is beyond stupid because it’s really about the Titans making food spicy because Robin is a terrible cook.
  2. Starfire, Beast Boy, Cyborg, and Raven’s stomachs "talking" is disgusting.
  3. Robin’s cooking is not only awful but questionable because his meal only consists of boiled potatoes. That is not a satisfying meal!
  4. The scene with Robin eating the boiled potatoes is disgusting.
  5. The Titans get hooked on spice and it gets ridiculous because it comes off as a metaphor for drug additions.
    • Like drugs, the Titans become immune to the spice’s taste and need spicier food to get the effects. That does not happen in real life.
  6. This episode also calls salt a spice, which is inaccurate because salt is a mineral, not a spice. That fallacy will come into play in episodes that follow such as The Avogodo.
  7. The “I’m a Hot Pepper” song while it can be catchy is also very annoying, and cheesy.
  8. Missed opportunity: Raven considers the tears of Zephos the spiciest pepper in the world. However, in real life, the world’s most spicy pepper is the Carolina reaper, which comes at a whopping 2.2 million SHU (Scoville Heat Units).
  9. The Titans scream for a good part of the episode due to their throats literally being on fire, it’s very annoying to listen to and it makes you feel bad for the actors because how do they not get laryngitis after this?
  10. The Dairy King is a male but is really a giant cow that lactates (producing milk) and he behaves like a normal cow too. This is not only illogical but completely bland, a giant cow is just uncreative. The Dairy King should’ve been a bull because only female cows lactate. The cow should be called Dairy Queen, However, the cow is likely called Dairy King to prevent copyright infringement. This is just uncomfortable.
    • Plot Hole: The legend and Raven said that the Dairy King was immortal but he died.
    • Another Plot Hole: The infamous scene where Robin kills the dairy king by aggressively milking his udders out, to the point where they’re dry and despite saying that he has infinite milk.
  11. Bad moral: Life should be lived to the middle, not too bland and not too dangerous. While it’s never a good idea to engage in harmful and life-threatening activities. Risks should be taken such as going to college and going to places that you have never been to before.
    • The episode's 'moral' states that the only way to make food tastier is using different spices, when obviously, while there's nothing wrong with eating spicy food, eating too many spices can kill you in reality.

Spicy Qualities

  1. These are one of the times Robin was right.
  2. There’s some truth to the episode’s story as the Carolina reaper has killed some people upon consumption.
  3. While annoying, the Hot Pepper does have a good singing voice.
  4. While disgusting, Cyborg explaining what the spice does to him is a nice Sleeping Beauty analogy.
