"Squidward's Sick Daze" is a SpongeBob SquarePants episode from season 13. In this episode, Squidward fakes being sick to get out of work, but his agony only begins when SpongeBob arrives to care for him.

Sick Qualities

  1. It is a ripoff of the episodes "Squid's Day Off" and "Squiditis" without the humor that made those episodes work. It is also an example of Squidward torture.
    • This episode is also pretty boring, and the boringness that this episode provides can come from Squidward's house for the most part, and this is because and especially the episode and most of its scenes mostly takes place inside of Squidward's house.
  2. Mr. Krabs and SpongeBob were both unlikeable. In fact, when Mr. Krabs found out about Squidward's lie, he could just punish him in ways like scolding him, lowering his salary, or even firing him. Sending a destructive yellow sponge named SpongeBob SquarePants that was created by the world itself to care for him is way too harsh on Squidward.
  3. Bad Ending: Most part of Squidward's bad dream at the beginning comes true, causing him to melt.
  4. SpongeBob stings Squidward with jellyfish and forces a sea urchin up Squidward's butt, as Squidward screams.
  5. While it's pretty nice to see Handsome Squidward from "Two Faces of Squidward" make a return after thirteen years since 2007, it can be seen as nostalgic pandering to some SpongeBob SquarePants fans, people, fans, critics, YouTubers, SpongeBoomers, especially since it can be seen as an attempt to make people feel nostalgic over Handsome Squidward, and it can be seen as a bad surprise and/or come out-of-nowhere for some viewers, SpongeBob SquarePants fans and SpongeBoomers which does say a lot and which does say a lot about the SpongeBob SquarePants season 13 episode "Squidward's Sick Daze".
  6. This episode may unfortunately remind some people of the times that they were sick and had sick times, mainly because Squidward pretends to be sick in this episode.
  7. Similar to SQ#3, like a lot of episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants, SpongeBob annoys Squidward and Squidward is clearly annoyed by SpongeBob and SpongeBob's announce, and like most episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants where Squidward is annoyed by SpongeBob, SpongeBob is completely unaware and completely oblivious to the fact that he is completely unintentionally annoying Squidward, and he doesn't even know that Squidward is annoyed by him.
  8. Unfortunately, since is the last episode of SpongeBob SquarePants where Philip Harris served as an associate producer before he left SpongeBob SquarePants to work and be the line producer on a man named John Trabbic's other TV show named Middlemost Post, "Squidward's Sick Daze" manages to unfortunately be an average end to the SpongeBob SquarePants episodes that Philip Harris worked on and it unfortunately ended Philip Harris' thirteen year career on SpongeBob SquarePants and the SpongeBob SquarePants episodes on an average note, though he was also an associate producer for the SpongeBob SquarePants spin-off Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years until the Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years episode "Hot Pearl-tato", which actually says a lot and manages to say a lot.
    • While this episode doesn't try to teach a moral in the slight, it can still leave an unintentional bad morial that says if someone is sick and/or pretending to be sick, pretty much annoy them and/or that person until they become better and not be sick any more and/or admit that they are not sick.
  9. Horrible ending After Squidward returned to the Krusty Krab to work, the episode ends unresolved as the customers are complaining and SpongeBob poking Squidward with his spatula just like in the dream scene from the beginning of the episode causing Squidward to melt in fear.

Good Qualities

  1. It's funny and it has plenty of jokes and gags people seem to enjoy like the strudel joke and the "a wall!" quote.
  2. Some people say its Squidward Torture done right.
  3. At least SpongeBob wasn't as bad as Mr. Krabs because SpongeBob didn't know that Squidward was faking it, but Mr. Krabs does.
  4. Squidward was likable.
  5. Handsome Squidward from "The Two Faces of Squidward" makes a return.
    • However, SpongeBob and the customers torture Squidward like at the beginning of the episode and he becomes normal again, which proves that everybody/every little thing bothers him a lot.
    • Plus some people didn't like this reference.

Reception

This episode is considered one of the worst episodes of Season 13 along with "Plane to Sea", and "SquidBird".
