A perfect iconic example of a stock audio clip

Stock Audio Clips are a trope that's been constantly reused in media due to budget reasons.

Notable Examples

  • Mickey Mouse universe (Best known for Goofy's iconic "AAAAH-HOO-HOO-WEEEE!!!" as seen on the clip on the right)
  • Tom and Jerry (uses William Hanna's Tom screaming that's been reused to this day)
  • Looney Tunes (uses lots of audio clips archived such as Road Runner's "Meep Meep!")
  • Any Hanna-Barbera show involving Muttley or any expy/non-speaking dog/animal minions (Whenever you'll hear Muttley snicker, expect to hear the same snicker again in the next episode. It even got to the point where he became an inspiration for the Duck Hunt Dog. This also applies to his Laff-a-Lympics/70s Tom and Jerry counterpart, Mumbly and other non-speaking dog/non-dog characters too, such as Precious Pupp)
  • various Canadian cartoons (a huge example as this trope has been used to death, so you'll expect to hear the same sound whenever a character laughs, screams or cries. Any cartoon with a Toronto voice cast is most especially the case)
  • Ed, Edd n Eddy (This example got to the point where they even become a meme of all things)
  • Lu & the Bally Bunch (an annoying example as since it's half Canadian, there are some instances where voice clips of the bugs are reused from a previous episode. Especially whenever Lu and her friends cry)
