Strong Armed is the ninth episode in the first season of The Powerpuff Girls (2016).
Plot
Bubbles fights the villainous Pack Rat using her cybernetic cast covering a broken arm, which she calls Armsy. When she learns that Armsy has unique properties of its own, she becomes obsessed with it and begins to rely on it frequently.
Why It's Weak
- Plot Hole: There is no reason to give Bubbles a robotic arm after her arm was broken by rubbles of the museum. Why would her arm break when she has been through many dangers in the Powerpuff Girls franchise?
- Bubbles is unlikable in this episode. She doesn't see the Packrat and the other rats as villains and more like misunderstood, cute animals. And when she gets her new robotic arm, she is thinking she has done good deeds when we actually saw a handful of bad ones such as her accidentally breaking the city ground in half. And when the Professor tells Bubbles that she needs to take the robotic arm cast off, she refuses and starts to wreck havoc.
- Buttercup called Bubbles "whimpy butt", later changed to "weiner butt" later on.
- Bubbles never gets called out for her destructive actions, though she does feel remorse and apologizes.
- Animation errors: The rats suddenly appear out of nowhere when the girls encounter Packrat stealing a diamond.
Strong Qualities
- Blossom and the Professor were still tolerable characters. Buttercup became tolerable later on, as well.
- The ending was okay, as Bubbles felt remorse for her actions and apologized to Blossom and Buttercup, and they apologize as well.
- The narrator is present in this episode.
- Funny moments here and there such as the robotic arm cast producing cappuccino and the narrator saying Townsville is shining but immediately turns away from the brightness of the Townsville Hall saying "Woah, too shiny!".
