Is Crossed really the disaster it's made out to be?

Alright, this is going to be a hot take here... but I personally feel like there are a handful of spin-offs and storylines that actually warrant some good pointers and are well received by others. It seems the comic only started to get horrendously grotesque in the later runs of the comic. The original run by Garth Ennis wasn't as severe as later comics by other authors. The original shows some restraint in how it treats the violence, devoting lot more time to focusing on the characters than shock value like later issues would. Plus other storylines such as Wish You Were Here or +100 are also rather well-liked.

It's not really fair to condemn the entire series for problems a lot of comics aren't even guilty of. I'm thinking that comics that put emphasis on story or characters should be allowed to have redeeming qualities, if it's clear that the comic series cares more about shock value than actually being good, THEN we can ban redeeming qualities. Condemning any work with controversial content like they're the offspring of Lucifer, is one of the many factors that got the Miraheze wikis shut down. (Plus, a lot of well-received works have controversial content. Remember A Clockwork Orange, or The Walking Dead -- another R-rated comic about a zombie apocalypse?) At least try to think "glass half full". SpaceProtagonist (talk) 17:14, May 29, 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I agree with you, Berserk is also well-recieved and contains disturbing content, plus it has an article in this wiki. MandalorePrinny (talk) 21:46, May 29, 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
