The Doctor Is Out is the 9th episode of Season 2 and the 66th episode overall in Rocket Monkeys.
Plot
Thanks to the monkeys, Chimpsky loses his status as a doctor and is demoted to a Jr. (3x) Rocket Monkey 3rd Class. Gus and Wally take advantage of their 2nd class status and make the former GASI chief do their bidding.
Why The Title Is Correct Indeed
- The Rocket Monkeys are unlikable and stupid in the first half of this episode as they tour Dr. Chimpsky in their rocketship, then they outrank him by torturing him.
- Gus presses the red button instead of the blue blinking button at the start of the episode, which is the reason why the bird, who sang the "Song of Peace", was killed and Glint and Glort started to fight.
- Glint and Glort are unlikable characters as they fight nonstop.
- This is a Dr. Chimpsky torture episode.
- The "Monkey" tour was a generic tour instead of something unique, including the disgusting scene where Wally throw his underwear on the wall.
- While Gus and Wally are searching for Dr. Chimpsky, Glint, and Glort start beating the monkeys up to no good after asking where Dr. Chimpsky is, which is mean-spirited.
- The flashback scene, while memorable, is disgusting due to the baby monkeys' pee.
- The scene where Gus and Wally are thinking about the Junior (3x) Rocket Monkey First class is considered a filler.
- Dr. Chimpsky's line: "That's it! I quit GASI, FOREVER!"
Redeeming Qualities
- Yay-OK and Dr. Chimpsky are likable characters.
- On the other hand, Gus and Wally are likable characters in the second half of this episode.
- The songs "Do As The Monkeys Do" and the "Monkey Tour" are catchy.
- The second half of this episode is better as the monkeys are searching for Dr. Chimpsky.
- The flashback scene is memorable as well.
- The ending was good because Glint and Glork are friends again and Yay-OK cheers the monkeys up, despite the monkeys getting tired of acting like a monkey.
