The Goddamn George Liquor Program Is a series consists of 8 3 minutes episodes made specifically for the internet by John Kricfalusi, with the notable team that feature Richard Pursel, Aaron Springer, Jim Smith, Robyn Byrd who left John in early 2000's after his sexual abuse to her, and Gabe Swarr who continued working with John until Cans Without Labels and the time when the Sexual misconduct allegations came to light.

This series was the first cartoon to be ever produced for the internet, as well as the first piece of animation made in Adobe Flash, and marks the first official appearance of Jimmy the idiot boy and Sody Pop who would be the signature characters of John and mascots of Spumco alongside George Liquor American and Ren and Stimpy later on, in addition to the new characters known as Ernie and Slab and Dirty Dog.

Plot

George Liquor and his nephew, Jimmy the Idiot Boy, go through their daily life as they also get visited by a few familiar faces.

Why This Program Is Goddamn Boring

  1. Because this show was animated in the first version of Adobe Flash Professional, the jerky and stiff animation is easily noticeable.
    • You may also notice the inconsistencies of the volume of the sound effects and out of sync voices with the animation.
  2. The show's humor utilizes gross-out humor as a staple, which will continue in Ren & Stimpy "Adult Party Cartoon", which becomes more and more over the top and constant as it went on.
    • Similarly this would also introduce the staple of lingering shots and/or stills that take too long to get across.
    • The credits card take too long to end as it shows the staff separately, taking huge chunk of what little time this project had.
  3. The writing is incredibly mundane and mediocre, it never offers anything interesting outside George kicks Sody Pop out of his house.
  4. All characters besides the titular character and Jimmy are forgettable at best, and disturbing at worst.
    • Ernie and Slab are the least forgettable of the bunch, considering they would later appear in Cans Without Labels fleshing them out as actual characters, here, they're assholes.
    • Dirty Dog only appears once, and does nothing besides taking a living feces, he would becomes one of the main characters in Weekend Pussy Hunt.
    • The feces, named Nutty the Friendly Dum, would be the center of a controversy with South Park's character Mr Hankey, John accusing Trey Parker of stealing Nutty, the accusation was refuted by Comedy Central, stating that Mr.Hankey was a character created by Trey's father. [1]
    • The infamous character who is the mascot of Spumco and appears in art giving kiss to John, known as Sody Pop, was first portrayed as a sexy chick whose nipples and camel toe being visible through her clothing lusting over Jimmy, while it is a tactless joke you would expect from John Kricfalusi, the fact that he admitted later on that she's 15 years old on the Howard Stern show makes it disturbing and uncomfortable. [2]
  5. Everything is anthropomorphized, while this is not inherently a bad thing, it's distracting, and serves nothing to the show's plot or lack thereof.
  6. Much like Cans Without Labels, Donald Bastard appears for the first time as a racist joke.
  7. There are many jokes that are attributed to be rapey, and should not been done on a mentally challenged minor character, or any minor character for that matter, Sody Pop tries to invite Jimmy while seducing him with her skimpy bikini, and an Elf Girl that comes out of the gift box only for a prolonged mouth to mouth kiss with Jimmy, both of which, George thankfully foils due to his morals and looking out for Jimmy.
  8. Overall, the show was experimental, and it didn't overcome the limitations of the programs despite many elements John tried to add.
  9. This show marks the downfall of John's animation career that he would go when creating Ren & Stimpy "Adult Party Cartoon", and it goes downhill from there.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. George Liquor and Jimmy are likeable characters.
    • George looking out for his nephew and trying to protect him no matter what is nice to see of this character, making cutting him from The Ren & Stimpy Show a huge waste.
  2. Ernie and Slab would later make return as more fleshed out in the ill-fated project Cans Without Labels.
  3. There are few moments here and there where Ernie and Slab playfully fight with George.
  4. Even though the animation was primative and experimental, it proved to be able to make more complex character designs allowing to animate more.
  5. While this show is boring, it's somehow better than Cans Without Labels.
