"The Legend of Boo-Kini Bottom" is an episode from season 11 of SpongeBob SquarePants.

Plot

SpongeBob and friends don costumes and decorate their neighborhood for some Halloween fun, but the spooky Flying Dutchman has other plans.

Why It's Spooky (In a Good Way)

  1. This episode brings back the stellar stop-motion animation from "It's a SpongeBob Christmas!" and even improves on it.
  2. Being a Halloween special, this episode provides a darker and more detailed atmosphere while supplementing it with a decent number of jokes.
  3. The Flying Dutchman has his darkest and most ambitious role yet in the series, being an awesome antagonist for the episode.
  4. The "Scary = Funny" catchphrase is memorable and catchy.
    • "Yup. I got the same answer. Scary equals... "AHHHH!"
  5. "Krabby Patties are people, they're People Patties!"
  6. The music number to this episode is an amazing one.

Scary Qualities

  1. The plot is somewhat lacking in substance.
  2. Patchy the Pirate does not make an appearance in this episode, even though he does in the storyboards.

Reception

This episode received positive reviews. It has a 7.7/10 on iMDB.
