Plot
The Mighty Ones follows the hilarious adventures of a group of creatures: a rock, a strawberry, a stick and a leaf. These best friends, self-named The Mighty Ones, live in an unkempt backyard belonging to a trio of equally unkempt humans whom they mistake for gods. Despite their diminutive stature, The Mighty Ones are determined to live life large and always have fun in their wild world.
Not-So-Mighty Qualities
- Bad voice acting, even for talented voice actors like Alex Cazares.
- The animation, provided by Snipple Animation is average at best, even for 2020 standards.
- Some gross humor, like the most prominent example being puking and vomiting scenes (which is especially shown in the trailer) and the characters putting their tongues on sharp items, trying to be like Ren and Stimpy (which coincidentally co-creator Lynne Naylor worked on).
- The human characters look like Sanjay and Craig rejects.
- The art style looks like it ripped off or is similar to The Mighty B!'s art style. Even the show's name sounds similar to the show that was mentioned in the previous sentence.
- The show’s characters can be sometimes selfish and pretty cruel to each other.
Mighty Qualities
- It gives a nostalgic feel of a 2000's Nicktoon, since the creators of the series, Lynne Naylor and Sunil Hall previously worked for Nickelodeon.
- The theme song is pretty good.
- Some good moments here and there.
- Some of the characters, such as Leaf, are likable.
- The show improved a bit in the later seasons.
Reception
The show received mixed-to-negative reviews from critics and viewers. Despite this, it currently has a 6.6/10 on IMDb.
Trivia
- This is the last cartoon that Lynne Naylor's late husband, Chris Reccardi worked on; more specifically, he was the storyboard artist of the episode "Naked Mole Wrath".
- This show was originally proposed to Nickelodeon in 2013, but they rejected it.
