Why It's The Star Of The Show
- The idea of doing a game centered on Patrick is a decent idea, and this game execute this concept greatly, despite being published by Outright Games.
- Beautiful graphics that are just as good as The Cosmic Shake, since they are very colorful and the characters models are very good, this is surprising considering that Outright Games is know for their games with poor graphics.
- The lightning is also a bit of an improvement over The Cosmic Shake, which already had amazing lightning and graphics.
- It also had great characters designs that are faithful to the show and are great in 3D, especially Patrick himself, much like SpongeBob: BFBB Rehydrated and The Cosmic Shake, although SpongeBob model is a little bit weird.
- Very fun gameplay that is in a sandbox style, you can do what you want and the game never really finished except if you want to do all the quest, at such it's basically Goat Simulator but with Patrick Star, and it is a bit similar to both Disney Infinity and even the GTA games due to being an open world.
- Tight and responsive controls.
- It's fun to mess around in the sandbox since not only you can do a lot of things but also the physics are the main reason of why this game is fun to play and doing everything you want here.
- It is very faithful to the show, as there's a lot of characters from the show such as Gary, and the soundtrack style is faithful too.
- Once again, the voice acting is very good since the cast from the show return and the voices are just as good as the show, especially for Patrick and SpongeBob.
- The missions themself are fun and sometime downright funny, since they resolve about doing a simple task and There's some of them who are very funny such as when Patrick had to push off the peoples at the place where Squidward want to rest.
- Good soundtrack, even though previous games had even better soundtrack.
Bad Qualities
- The game is extremely short with it's quests since you can complete all of them in only 2 hours, which is downright unnaceptable for this age of game, although it's a sandbox game so you can play how much you want to.
- There's isn't much of a challenge but still it was made for kids and the fact that the game isn't hard is a good thing for this kind of games honestly.
- The controls, while great, could be a little bit confusing for some peoples and younger childrens, though not by much.
- Once again, it feel like an expension pack of Battle for Bikini Bottom, though not that much because this game is it's own thing.
- Unfortunately, the game only include the english dub, not even the French and other dub is present, though this is to be expected because it's a game from Outright Games who only include an english dub.
Trivia
- The game was released on Bill Fagerbakke's 67th birthday.
Reception
The Patrick Star Game received mixed reviews by critics, having a score of 65 for the PS5 version on Metacritic, howewer the game got more positive reviews by gamers, especially because of the fact that it is a game centered around Patrick.
