"The Polygamous Penis" is the 22th episode of the season 4 of Titeuf.
Plot
Titeuf fell in love with Ramatou; however, he still feels something for Nadia; the latter, who cannot bear to see that Titeuf prefers another, decides to arouse her jealousy by going out with her best friend, Manu.
Why It's Over
- The main problem with this episode is that Nadia is a complete hypocrite and is also very unlikable, yet the episode portrait her as the likable character and Titeuf got portrayed as the unlikable one but in reality you will prefer to be with Titeuf side because of what Nadia done in this season.
- In fact it show that this season writting start to be completely problematic, and is even worse than usual, because of the fact that not only this episode feature some plot holes but also is more mean-spirited than ever.
- Some moments feel like rehash of previous episodes from previous seasons, which include the moment where Titeuf tell Nadia that he don't love her anymore, that is a slight rehash of the end of the season 1 episode "Dirty Rotten Present", although he said it not in the same way.
- It's A 7 minutes episode of extremely annoying events, although it isn't a torture episode because Nadia clearly deserved to be leave alone by Titeuf.
- As stated in WIO#1, Nadia is completely unlikable and despite that the episode try to make her the likable character, it does a very bad job because she is a huge hypocrite here, and had so many flaws to the point of being almost worst than usual, such exemples include:
- She did said that Titeuf don't had the right of leave her, Are you serious ?! You treat him like crap and you dare to say that, no wonder he did leave you
- She stated that she will be in couple with Manu to take revenge on Titeuf, and it almost worked until Dumbo came and slap Manu for it. Once again that completely ridiculous and show that she cannot stand to be leave out by boys.
- This episode had so many plot holes to the point of being worse than usual, and is possibly the only Titeuf episode with so many plot holes, exemples include:
- In the beginning, when Titeuf said hello to Nadia, she reject him, same for before he said that he don't like her anymore, and after he tell her, she goes red and say that it is great, but why does after this she crying, she don't like him right ?
- Soon after the first plot hole, there a scene where we see Titeuf and Nadia seing each other, and when Titeuf did tell Nadia that he offer things for peoples that she like, she once again goes red and even throw Titeuf objects that he offer, and also jump on his bag pack, if you really wanted Titeuf attention from the beginning, why does you don't apologise and it's okay?
- The biggest plot hole is why does Nadia doesn't tell Titeuf her apologies if she really like him? If she did it, then this episode event would probably had never happened.
- Another plot hole happen in the scene where we see Nadia crying because of Titeuf leaving her, and when she tell to Dumbo that she will be in couple with Manu, she only said that he was cute, but in the latter scene, when she discover that Nadia did kiss him, then why she slap him and not Nadia, because if Nadia didn't kiss him, then this would had probably not happened.
- Hugo, while a likable character, said that Titeuf was polygame just because he love two girls at the same time, when being polygame is when you are married with two girls at the same time, in other words, it give a poorly executed moral that is that if you love two girls then you are polygame and you can go in jail, which is not true, as you go in jail only if you're married with two girls at the same time and not being in love with two girls.
- Misleading title card: The episode obviously doesn't show Titeuf mariage with both Nadia and Ramatou, not even in an imagination scene, at such it is completely misleading and it doesn't help that the title is also misleading.
- The title is misleading too because Titeuf isn't really polygame but rather in love with two girls at the same time, which is not considered to be polygame, even if it can be problematic.
- Manu tell that talking like a caveman from back then was very romantic, but it is unfortunately false because of the fact that nowadays and even likely in the 2000s it is not a good way to ask a girl and might even make you pass as a crazy person.
- This is show in the scene where Titeuf try it but of course he fail to ask Ramatou because she though that he made fun of her, and while it wasn't true, it show that even with the kindest persons, it will not work for 99% of the time.
- For some reasons, Ramatou, despite appearing for a lot of time in the episode, isn't one of the main focus of the episode and rather appear as a secondary character, even despite the premise.
- Terrible Ending: Titeuf get jealous that Nadia did offer something to Manu and when she ask why they are fighting, not only does Titeuf tell her that she don't had the right to being in couple with Manu, in which he earned a slap, but also Manu got a slap from Dumbo because of Nadia kissing him, and the episode end right in the scene where Manu state that he probably not ready to be in loves.
Redeeming Qualities
- Titeuf and his friends are likable, and Titeuf did finally know who he truly love, and also he finally stopped to be with Nadia, although unfortunately he would continue to love Nadia in the next episodes (and the torture crap for Titeuf continues).
- The concept of the episode was great, since it could had included emotional moments or romantic dramas, but it was poorly executed because of Nadia being an hypocrite.
- Also, the concept of Titeuf being in love with other girl was better executed than this with the season 2 episode "Thunderbolt", but that episode mostly doesn't had anything to do with this episode.
- The moment where Titeuf tell Nadia that it's over was VERY satistying.
Reception
This episode reception is rather divise at best, because there's peoples that dislike it and other that like it because of Titeuf breaking up with Nadia scene, but to be honest, most peoples that like it like it only for that scene.
