'The Powerpuff Girls: Bad Mojo Jojo' is a platform game based on the Cartoon Network series with the same name. It was developed by Sennari in association with Intelligent Games, and was published by BAM! Entertainment on November 14, 2000, which was released on the same day as Dexter's Laboratory: Robot Rampage.
Why It Truly Is a Bad Game
- Abysmal graphics that are completely the same as The Powerpuff Girls: Paint the Townsville Green and The Powerpuff Girls: Battle HIM!s graphics. It doesn't help that this was made first before the latter, as the next one was released two weeks after this. Couldn't they release these two games on the same day instead of two weeks apart from each other?!
- They also released this game on the same day as Dexter's Laboratory: Robot Rampage, meaning they, in effect, had two of their own games competing with each other. Both games were marketed for younger audiences, and such buyers are usually on a limited budget. It's doubtful this helped sales.
- When you control Blossom in this game, she moves like a robot and her animation movements are as abysmal as their next game which was also released on the Game Boy Color.
- Speaking of the controls, it suffers from slippery controls and stupid level designs.
- This game also suffers from abysmal framerate drops just like The Powerpuff Girls: Paint the Townsville Green does.
- Stupid plot: Mojo Jojo breaks into Professor Utonium's house to take over his laboratory, and make an army of enemies for you to fight, which gets tedious as you progress.
- The cutscenes are even worse when the music is playing while getting through the introduction of how the game is supposed to work.
- And speaking of the enemies, the enemies come off as generic and uninspiring, and there are some enemies that NEVER APPEARED IN THE ACTUAL SHOW AT ALL! For example, one enemy consists of a jellyfish and a weird looking demon, which comes off as nonsensical and laughable.
- The game even has glitches, according to Cartoon Review, and not to mention that there is even a glitch with the Rowdyruff Boys.
- One example is when the Rowdyruff Boys disappear when you try to confront them in battle for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
- The music in the background is extremely ear-degrading and dreadful, that it feels like you're playing a terrible NES game.
- The fact that this was released on the same day as Dexter's Laboratory: Robot Rampage doesn't really give you anything good other than a Cartoon Network collector's item. But even for 2000s standards, this is no excuse for a bad and rushed game.
- Picking up from WIS#3, some of the enemies are laughable as some of them look like they came from a different game.
- The trading card mode is really boring, when all you do is collect trading cards and there isn't anything interesting to even call it fun.
The Only Redeeming Quality
- They at least made a decent attempt at a Powerpuff Girls game, especially when it's not in the best quality.
