The Price Is Right is a long running American game show that ran from 1956 to 1965, and since September 4, 1972. The UK would get their own version of this show from 1984 to 2007.

Why These Seasons Are Right

  1. Bob Barker is a great host. Drew Carey is a suitable successor since 2007.
  2. Beautiful models, including Janice Pennington, Holly Hallstrom, Dian Parkinson and the like.
  3. Great pricing games, especially Punch-A-Bunch, Lucky $even, and Plinko.
  4. Catchy music, especially the theme song.
  5. Great announcing by Johnny Olson, Rod Roddy, Rich Fields, and currently George Gray.
  6. Funny moments, including Bob's "I'm about as apt to give it to her as I am to give her my house!".
  7. The 1956 version is already great, with a great host in Bill Cullen, a great format, great announcing by Don Pardo, and a great theme song.
  8. The British version had its share of great hosts in Leslie Crowther from 1984 to 1989, Bob Warman in 1989, Sir Bruce Forsyth from 1995 to 2001, and Joe Pasquale in 2007.
  9. It recently had "mash-up weeks" with Let's Make A Deal, which were very decent.

Bad Qualities

  1. Some bad pricing games over the years, such as Shower Game and Professor Price.
  2. The show went downhill from Seasons 31-38.
    • While Season 39 is still alright, the announcer tryout period is pretty mediocre.
  3. In 2012, Seven Network made an terrible short-lived Australian revival that had none of what made the originals so good.
