The Time Bomb is the second half od episode 10 and the 18th episode of Wander Over Yonder
Plot
Wander and Sylvia compete in the Galactic Conjunction 6000, but Harvax and Stok tells her to "tick-tock boom" so that she can get mad at the racers. Wander has to calm her down to take it easy.
Defused Qualities
- There are two different premises in this episode: Wander and Sylvia compete in Galactic Conjunction 6000 to win the trophy and Harvax and Stok say "Tick-tock" to make her mad and harass the other racers while Wander tells her to calm down, which are both interesting premises.
- Wander and Sylvia (except for her "Time Bomb" state) are likable characters in this episode.
- Wander sympathizes with Sylvia to stop getting mad at the racers because of her "Time Bomb" state by closing her eyes and dreaming about marshmallows.
- At first, Sylvia is nervous to compete in the race, but when Harvax and Stok arrive, they say to "tick-tock" her, in which she make her angry. However, Wander tells her to calm down in order to take it easy, which gives her character development.
- Harvax and Stok are two of the most intimidating villains in this episode, but sadly, they appear here and they do not return until The Gift.
- Sylvia getting mad at Harvax and Stok because the phrase, "tick-tock", is actually her nickname, is interesting.
- The songs, Time Bomb and Take It Easy, Sylvia, are catchy to hear.
- Sylvia's rants can be quite hilarious, especially her line: YOU CUT ME OFF!!!
- The ending has a good twist, with Wander and Sylvia being the winners by default after Harvax uses a fake proboscis to compete in the race. Sylvia swiping Harvax and Stok out on the podium while taunting them is satisfying and gets their karma.
- Good Moral: Like Bubblevicious, it is never good to take your anger seriously.
Time Bomb Qualities
- Sadly, despite Sylvia being likable, she is at her absolute worst here. She is mean-spirited to the racers while in "Time Bomb" state.
- At one point, she trips a racer while in her normal state, yes really.
- This is a Sylvia torture episode to the point that she cannot control her anger while competing in the race.
Trivia
- The title is a reference to Sylvia's racing nickname and her furious state, which is shown several times by Harvax and Stok in the episode.
- The phrase "barely bat an eyelid" means to not show any horror or surprise over something.
