Three-Legged Race is the 7th episode of Season 4 and the 64th episode overall of Mickey Mouse.

Plot

Mickey and his friend compete in a three-legged race by playing fair, but others are cheating for no good reason.

Unfair Qualities

  1. This is a Mickey torture episode as he sees everyone cheating in the three-legged race just to win a trophy.
  2. Everyone (except Mickey and the Walrus Judge) is horribly unlikable as they cheat the race using tools or gadgets in order to get the trophy.
    • Even Pete is horribly unlikable for using a soda can to gain boost, punching Goofy by punching, and harassing Minnie and Daisy for playing fair by pulling the rope to release them, even though they are the only ones who do not cheat.
  3. Goofy is pointless and he does not follow the rules of the three-legged race by using a burlap sack, unaware that this is a three-legged race. Worse, he has three legs after being disqualified in a three-legged race.
  4. Idiotic Move: In the case of Scrooge and Donald, the throw the money to lure other players into getting them, but they are shocked to see that is theirs, which causes them to return back until Ludwig von Drake and Martian Robot flatten both.
  5. Plot Holes:
    • Since when does Goofy have three legs?
    • Near the end of the episode, Mickey crosses the three-legged race by himself while Pete is unconscious, but his moves a bit quickly to cross the finish line while time lapses very quickly. In real life, time cannot lapse very quickly so that Mickey and Pete could finish the line before the crowd and the Walrus Judge walk away.

Fair Qualities

  1. Mickey and the Walrus Judge are the only likable characters in this episode.
  2. The opening scene is good, until everyone cheats in the three-legged race.
  3. Somewhat Decent Ending: Mickey finally crosses the finish line by playing fair, but his old age faints.
  4. Good Moral: It is never good to cheat in sports, always play fair.
