Titeuf is a Franco-Swiss animated television series, adapted from the eponymous Swiss comic strip by Zep, broadcast from April 7, 2001 to October 3, 2017 on Canal J and France 3.

Good Qualities

  1. Similar to The Adventures of Tintin, The Smurfs and it's 2021 reboot, Lou! , Marsupilami (2000) and Cédric these seasons remain very faithful to the comic strip from which they are inspired.
  2. A very good flash animation for the time which remains very faithful to the style of comics.
  3. Tons of iconic characters that are just like in their comic book counterparts:
    • Titeuf the main character who tries to understand how life works and from which emerges a very naive vision.
    • Manu the best friend of Titeuf very recognizable and very nice.
    • Nadia the famous love interest of Titeuf often sympathetic sometimes antipathetic.
    • Hugo another very funny friend of Titeuf.
    • Nathalie one of Nadia's friends very friendly and really appreciated by the fans.
    • and many other characters like the parents of Titeuf, Dumbo, Francois, Vomito, Jean Claude.
  4. Original and interesting writing.
  5. Season 1 and 3 theme songs are iconic.
  6. Similar to Angelo Rules he is very well known in the French community and has even had memes.
  7. An excellent French dubbing with Donald Reignoux (who also did the French voices of Phineas from Phineas & Ferb or Danny from Danny Phantom) doing an excellent job dubbing Titeuf and Hugo.
  8. The 2011 film was very good and respected the series.
  9. The famous lines from Titeuf which are "C'est pô juste" and "Tchô".
  10. The soundtrack is quite surprisingly good and catchy even for a kid show, it's also better than in the season 4 of the show.

Bad Qualities

  1. The show declined strongly during season 4 putting a lot of changes, flanderizing the characters and the art style and animation being a massive downgrade despite that the art style is still decent.
  2. Despite this, the 3 seasons also have problems.
    • Season 1 is a bit violent with many fight scenes and also its Flash animation has aged quite badly.
    • Season 2 as for it takes again the defects of season 1 and moreover that lasted only 16 episodes.
    • Season 3 is the reverse of season 2 because it had a total of 158 episodes.
  3. Some unfriendly characters like Nadia (sometimes) or Marco.
  4. The show is often very mean-spirited with the main character.
  5. Many animation errors in Season 1.
  6. Nadia's slapping Titeuf can be annoying at times.
  7. Finally there were bad episodes like:
    • Tic paf... (Who started the show on a bad note)
    • My sister Zizie
    • Tcheu of Camp
    • The fault of the guard
    • The faded ink
