Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 3: Night of the Quinkan is the third title in the Ty the Tasmanian Tiger series for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube and Game Boy Advance developed by Krome Studios and published by Activision in 2004. It is the only game in the series to be published by Activision.

A PC port of the game is currently being developed and published by Krome Studios and is currently on Steam Early Access.

Why It Rocks

  1. The game offers an open-world gameplay, unlike the hub-themed platforming gameplay of its two predecessors.
  2. Much more and varied missions than Bush Rescue.
  3. Many optional missions and side quests.
  4. Tons of secrets and collectibles.
  5. A new addition to the series is the Bunyip stones. These have special abilities and can be used to upgrade the boomerangs' powers.
  6. Now the main boomerang can be equipped with several elemental stones and given multiple abilities.
  7. Many new equipable boomerangs.
  8. More detailed and superior graphics than the last two games.
  9. More challenging than its predecessors.
  10. Many gameplay styles, such as driving, kart-racing, pilotable flying ships, and robots etc.

Bad Qualities

  1. It tries too hard to be edgy.
  2. Adding on to Point 1, the game's tone is a huge departure from the 2 previous games. The 2 previous games had a cartoony and light-hearted tone, while this game is way darker in terms of story and visuals, in an attempt to bring back fans of the series who had moved on to other games.
  3. Tedious combat.
  4. Vehicle stages overstay their welcome.
    • Not to mention, this vehicle stage isn't optional, it's completely with main story and you must play the vehicle stage in order to complete this.
  5. Some vehicle stage can be hard and boring.
  6. As the PC port is currently in Early Access, there may be bugs and glitches in the game as it is unfinished.
