LEGO Universe was a subscription-based children's MMORPG/virtual world developed by NetDevil and published by the Lego Group released on October 26, 2010. The game had a troubled production, originally planning for a 2009 release date, but got delayed due to production issues.
The game eventually shut down in January 31, 2012, only 15 months from its release due to poor sales/revenue from general consumers, causing NetDevil to file for bankruptcy in February 25, 2011.
The game received very little marketing from the LEGO Group, which mean very little publicity and it was lesser known compared to other virtual world MMOs at the time.
