WarioWare: Snapped! is a minigame compilation/party game developed by Nintendo SPD and Intelligent Systems, and published by Nintendo, for the Nintendo DSi. It is the second WarioWare game made for the DS family, and was later released on Nintendo 3DS alongside the other DSiWare titles via backwards-compatibility.

Qualities That Snapped in Frustration

  1. There are only 20 microgames in this entire game, which is the fewest in the series (not counting Game & Wario's 16 minigames); this is unacceptable, considering that most other games have hundreds of microgames.
    • Adding insult to injury, five of them are only playable in Kat & Ana's multiplayer stages' meaning that you can only play 15 games in single-player mode!
  2. Unlike ever other WarioWare game, there is no mode where you can play individual microgames, so in order to even replay specific ones, you must start from the beginning of each character's stage.
    • And just to add insult to injury, there is also no save feature in this game, so your progress with each microgame is not recorded in any way.
  3. Much like Mega Microgame$!, there is hardly a story in this game besides an excuse plot: here, Wario opens an amusement park known as Wario Park, then hires Mona Pizza, Jimmy T, and Kat & Ana as employees.
  4. The camera calibration done before starting a stage can get difficult, since sometimes the lighting is too bright or dark and/or the background color could clash with the player's complexion.
  5. The game is extremely short and can be beaten in about six minutes in single-player. Couple that with having only 15 microgames for said mode, and you get the proverbial icing on the cake.
    • Even worse, the credits minigame is longer than the actual game itself.
  6. The opening cutscene goes by quickly, so you'll have very little time to read Wario and friends' dialogue.
  7. There is almost no replay value, which is unacceptable for a series which relies heavily on replayability to unlock new microgames, gadgets, etc.
  8. Overpriced: The game cost $5 (or 500 Nintendo Points) despite its lack of content and miniscule length.
  9. Overall, due to being one of the first DSiWare games released, it was a blemish on an otherwise-good software launch.

Good Qualities

  1. The fact that this game was released as a tech-demo for the Nintendo DSi's cameras somewhat justifies the extremely low amount of content.
  2. While there are only 20 microgames total, the microgames themselves are still fun to play and offer some good variety, especially the credits minigame.
  3. The soundtrack composed by Yasuhisa Baba isn't bad and has an amusement park vibe to it.
  4. It's still has some replay value, despite the game has almost/little replayability.

Reception

WarioWare: Snapped! received mixed-to-negative reviews from both critics and users (scoring 53/100 and 5.7/10, respectively, on Metacritic), with much of the criticism being directed at the lack of content, extremely short length, and camera calibration issues. It is the lowest-ranked Wario game on Metacritic, and considered to be the worst game in the franchise by many.
