We Can't Bear It! is the first episode in Season 3 of Bunk'd and the forty-third overall. It first aired on June 18, 2018, It started the downfall of series.

Plot

The Ross Kids, Lou and new campers Destiny, Matteo and Finn return to Camp Kikiwaka to discover that the cabins have never been rebuilt after the fire and that Gladys has run off with the insurance money. Now, they must figure out how to keep everyone happy.

Why We Can't Bear It!

  1. Xander, Tiffany, Jorge, Griff, Gladys, and Hazel have been permanently removed from the series without any explanation (except for Gladys, whose absence is explained) and are replaced by new characters, Destiny, Matteo and Finn, which was an insult to many fans.
    • To make matters worse, Xander, Tiffany, Jorge, Griff and Hazel are not even mentioned by any of the characters, like they never even existed in the first place. This was also a major insult to both fans and said characters.
    • None of these characters (except for Hazel) make a guest appearance in the reminder of the series.
  2. The new characters, Destiny, Matteo and Finn have unoriginal personalities because Destiny is a rip-off of Emma, Matteo is a rip-off of Ravi and Tiffany and Finn is a rip-off of Jorge.
    • Destiny's selfish and boastful personality is annoying, especially when she constantly shows off her trophies and brags about her days in beauty pageants.
  3. The acting from the three new characters can sometimes get cringey and over-the-top.
  4. The new opening theme song is very short and lazily put together.
  5. This episode (and season 3 as a whole) has a very poor connection with the first two seasons, which makes it feel non-canon to said seasons.
  6. Timmy still not being allowed to come to camp is stupid and nonsensical considering the fact that Gladys is no longer the owner of the camp. (Gladys unfairly banned Timmy from camp while she was the owner) Also, since the Ross Kids are now the owners of the camp, they should've let Timmy come instead of having Emma shoo him away.
  7. It feels strange that Lou, and the Ross family, suddenly become part-owners of Camp Kikiwaka after Gladys leaves in the first episode. For instance, Ravi is part owner, camp cook, and Grizzly cabin counselor. This is an issue in one episode when he realizes Finn and Matteo need constant supervision (as you would expect in a kid's camp) but has issues dealing with them when he is in the kitchen. The sudden shift in responsibility to the Ross kids and Lou feels unrealistic, as it seems odd that another adult wasn’t hired to run the camp.
  8. This episode didn't premiere until 1 year after the Season 2 finale, which is awfully late since most Disney Channel season premieres normally premiere a few months or so after a season finale.
  9. This is only the beginning of the badness, it in fact started the downfall of the whole series and it hasn't recovered since (it also started season 3 on a bad note).

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Lou, Emma, Ravi and Zuri are still a part of the cast.
  2. Xander's voice is still heard in the opening theme song.
  3. Gladys' absence from the series is explained. The reason given is that she fled with the camp's insurance money.
  4. The acting is still decent.

Reception

This episode and season 3 as a whole, received negative feedback from fans as they complained about Xander, Tiffany, Jorge, Griff and Hazel's removal from the series, the introduction of Destiny, Matteo and Finn, the continuity being inconsistent with seasons 1 & 2 and the new opening theme song. Many fans feel that this is where the show declines in quality.
