Angry Birds Go! is a kart racing game based off of the original Angry Birds. The game was soft launched on November 26, November 27, December 3, & December 9, 2013 for New Zealand, Australia, Brazil, & Mexico, & December 11, 2013 Worldwide.

Plot

The story starts when the pigs are about to race on Piggy Island, while the birds are looking down onto them. The Chronicler Pig makes the prizes: The 3rd place will win some shoes, 2nd place will win a apple, and 1st place will win a giant cake, which opens their appetite and make them join the race with the pigs.

Why It Was A Real Go

  1. The idea about making a Angry Birds racing game is a awesome idea, despite being (sort of) a Mario Kart clone.
  2. The controls are really great, partially on par with Mario Kart, Crash Team Racing, & other amazing racing games.
  3. Really head-bobbing soundtrack that is made by Pepe Deluxe, with the best being the Champion Chase music.
  4. The game has an amazing Jenga mode, where you can destroy a pirate ship with the characters.
  5. The power-ups are pretty useful, with the Target kart and the Gold Fish boost being the best and most helpful for difficult races (especially races against Senna Bird & Chuck, the fastest characters in the game).
  6. A really awesome amount of playable characters, with over 13 playable characters!
    • Also, the Telepods make a comeback from Angry Birds Star Wars II.
  7. Awesome abilities for the birds & pigs, for example: Chuck can slow down time for the other racers, making it very easy for him to win a race. And Hal can use a tornado to spin out all the unlucky racers who happen to be in its way.
  8. The karts are really fast and easy to control, and even more so if you use the Target kart & the Gold Fish boost.
  9. The game has a tournament mode where you can play extra races in order to get cool prizes.
  10. You can see the 4 stages of each car getting upgraded.
  11. Before it came out, it had a Countdown app where you can test out all the characters & their cars, and you could also play it to wait for this game to come out.
    • Speaking of which, it also had another app called Angry Birds Go Create, where you can also create your own racetracks.
  12. The voice acting is as good as Angry Birds Toons, despite having no dialogue.
  13. The character models are nice, especially for 2013 3D standards.
    • Also, Hal is by far the coolest-looking (and sounding) bird in the game.
  14. The game has nice looking 3D designs, despite having bad graphics.
  15. It also spawned an amazing upgraded version of the game, which is just as good as this game. And it is also a huge improvement over the 2.0 era.
  16. Senna Bird is a great addition to the game, resembling Chuck as the real Ayrton Senna. And he has a amazing helmet that can be unlocked by playing 41 races with him.

Bad Qualities

  1. The game went downhill starting with the 2.0 update, as the game became more pay to win, and the game is more difficult than before.
    • Thankfully you can still get the 1.0 version of the said game by downloading the APK and only works on Android meaning that people that have iOS can't download the 1.0 version of Angry Birds Go!, unless if you jailbreak.
  2. Sometimes, even before the 2.0 era, the game can still be hard.
    • Especially Corporal Pig if you're less than 1230CC
  3. The game has microtransactions, because you have to pay for $50 to get the best kart. Luckily, this could be avoided by buying the telepods.

Reception

The game received mixed to positive reception from fans & reviewers alike.

Trivia

  • The game had a Jenga box set based on the mode of the same name, which can be bought in some stores.
  • The 3D character models from the game itself were ported to Garry's Mod.
