Angry Birds Star Wars is a puzzle video game, a crossover between the Star Wars franchise and the Angry Birds series of video games, launched on November 8, 2012, first for Windows, iOS and Android devices, later also to Mac and BlackBerry. The game is the sixth Angry Birds game in the series. The characters are copyrighted from George Lucas's double-trilogy.

Angry Birds Star Wars II is a puzzle video game, a crossover between Star Wars and the Angry Birds series, that was released on September 18, 2013. The game is the seventh Angry Birds game and the third where players can play as pigs (The first is the original game in King Pig Mode and the second being its spin-off game, Bad Piggies), developed by Rovio Entertainment. The game is a prequel to Angry Birds Star Wars and is based on the Star Wars prequel trilogy, as well as the television show Star Wars Rebels.

Why They're The Power of the Jedi

General

1. They are one of the first Angry Birds games that don't involve the generic "birds rescue eggs from the pigs" formula.
2. Both games are the retelling of the two Star Wars trilogies, but the characters are birds and pigs.
3. John William's score are present in both games. Including the Binary Sunset, or Duel of the Fates.
4. Not only the birds and pigs dressed up as Star Wars characters, they have managed to capture the looks of their movie (Star Wars, not The Angry Birds Movie) counterparts, as Red and Chuck's hair looked like Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford back in the 70's.
5. Both games include iconic scenes from the movies, from Darth Vader's famous "Luke, I am your father.", Vader's redemption, to Obi-wan's "It's over Anakin! I have the high ground!"
6. The entirety of the two actually felt like Star Wars games, from backgrounds, to sound design, and even one of the recreations of the scenes from both trilogies.

Angry Birds Star Wars

1. The birds' abilities have been changed compared to the original.
   • Red/Luke Skywalker uses his lightsaber (both blue and green).
   • Bomb/Obi-wan Kenobi uses the force instead of exploding.
   • Chuck/Han Solo/Lando Calrissian shoots laser guns.
   • Stella/Princess Leia Organa/Skywalker dons a device to pull objects.
   • Matilda/C-3PO breaks into pieces.
   • Eggsteroid/R2-D2 electrocutes enemies.
2. Elements from Angry Birds Space return, such as; the gravitational area, and a proper aim.
3. If you get a perfect 3 stars on every level (Tatooine to Death Star II), you can unlock Path of the Jedi, and if you finish the episode, you can now unlock Luke's new lightsaber.
4. Unlike the previous games, there is a character soundboard, which sadly was an exclusive feature on this version.
5. The final fight against Darth Sidious is challenging, but fun.
6. Anakin's/Darth Vader's redemption was just as emotional as it originally stated in Return of the Jedi.

Angry Birds Star Wars II

1. For the first time, you now have the option to play as the pigs to fight against the birds.
2. It introduced Telepods, which are toys with QR codes similar to amiibos that allow them to show up and be played as in the game, avoiding the pay-to-win deals and spending game currency by using the Telepods, which can unlock the characters.
3. Lots of new playable characters; as Yoda can spin around and bounce against the blocks, Darth Maul using his lightsaber to cut down everything in his path, Mace Windu/Count Dooku throws his lightsaber as a boomerang, or Anakin Skywalker (Episode III)/Darth Vader using the dark side of the force.
   • Even Jar Jar Binks is fun to use.
4. The Master your Destiny levels, which can let you practice different kinds of characters.
5. It even included Star Wars: Rebels.

Bad Qualities

Overall

1. Some parts aren't retold very well. Even some of the best parts (One example is Obi-Wan cutting Darth Maul in half to avenge Qui-Gon) are cut from the game and it was toned down to kid-friendly.
2. The plot can be confusing, so you still need to watch the all the Star Wars movies (from Episodes I-VI) to understand them.

Angry Birds Star Wars

1. Some of the character upgrades like Han Solo's/Landon Calrissian's blue lasers or Leia's pink beam don't really affect much.
2. The console ports aren't really worth it, although it's the only way to play it legally since Rovio removed the game from all mobile storefronts in 2019.
3. For some reason, one of the levels in Cloud City had a Tusken Raider in it. Which is very odd, since Tusken Raiders did not appear in The Empire Strikes Back.
4. Jabba's Palace was apparently planned to be a full level or episode, but his appearance is limited to a single cutscene in the final product.

Angry Birds Star Wars II

1. Both Jango Fett and Boba Fett explode for no reason. Fortunately, that's been fixed in later updates.
2. Most of the levels can be either frustrating, or impossible. Unless if you have a Telepods of a certain character, or look up for a strategy to beat a level, and even then those strategies are sometimes luck based.
3. Revenge of the Pork (Pork Side) was not only the most rushed episodes in the game, but also made Episode III: Revenge of the Sith wasted potential as well.
   • Because of that, there was no fight between Obi-wan and General Grievous, or Yoda and Darth Sidious.
   • Also, the bird side story never adapts Revenge of the Sith, with the entirety of Episode III getting crummed into a single level, while the bird side of it is actually the battle of Geonosis from Episode II: Attack of the Clones.
4. Speaking of rushed episodes, half of the game's episodic content is only focused on The Phantom Menace. And, get this, it spans for about 3 whole episodes.
5. Some of the characters either don't do very much or are clones of other characters, making them useless like Red Battle-Droid, Silver C-3PO, Shockwave Trooper, etc. And others can feel too overpowered like Tusken Raider, Kanan Jarrus and Darth Vader/Anakin Episode III.
