"Black Friday" is the sixteenth episode of the third season of Teen Titans Go!, and the one-hundred-twentieth overall episode of the series.
Summary
Starfire is visited by three ghosts and shown the true meaning of Black Friday.
Why It's Blacklisted On Friday
- This episode clearly has no idea what Black Friday actually means, as it treats Black Friday as a government holiday instead of a special discount day event for malls and shops.
- Bad Moral: It encourages children to go to Black Friday and judging from what happens on Black Friday, that's a red flag.
- The premise of this episode is just plain sadistic and cruel, as it is basically the Three Ghosts trying to convince Starfire to trample people and steal items, all the while trying to justify this.
- As mentioned above, the scene where Starfire and The Titans beat up customers and steal their items is really Mean-Spirited.
- The joke where Ghost Robin looks like he's wearing a dress is hilariously unfunny.
- The Titans are very unlikable as they bully Starfire for not participating in Black Friday.
- It's a piss-poor attempt at parodying Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol.
- Seeing the Titans homeless and some of them dead in the future is unexpectedly dark and manipulative as it’s supposed to get Starfire to participate in Black Friday. SHOPPING IN BLACK FRIDAY IS NOT A NECESSITY YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT!
- The "Black Friday" spirit at the end of the episode is a very pointless character.
Redeeming Qualities
- Starfire is the only likable character in this episode.
- The Cranberry joke is the only joke that is genuinely funny.
- Good Ending (finally): Although mean spirited, the Titans did got all the Black Friday stuff they need.
