Creepypastas are a form of Internet story that usually removes around horror. However, following the success of Pokemon: Lost Silver, it also spawned a subgenre where it revolved around the main protagonists getting ahold of a bootleg/hacked game or TV episode, which very often tend to rely on unrealistic factors and are usually made to chase trends. Nowadays, the Creepypasta Wiki bans any new video game Creepypastas as many of them were poorly written after several purges throughout 2013 and 2015.

The most famous examples include Pokemon: Lost Silver, Squidward's Suicide, Ben Drowned, and the likes of both Jeff the Killer and Slenderman.
