Dude Relax! is the 7th episode of the 1st season of Teen Titans Go!.

Synopsis

The team places Robin on forced hiatus while Beast Boy teaches him to relax after his high-strung nature begins affecting the team. Robin attempts to learn how to be lazy.

Why This Should Not Relax

  1. For starters, this is a Robin torture episode.
  2. Robin is also unlikable at the beginning of the episode because after his failed attempts to relax, the other Titans invite him to join in on their favorite activities (Beast Boy’s is playing catch, Cyborg’s fixing things, Raven’s is pruning, and Starfire’s is cosmetics and spa treatments), however, Robin ends up injuring his teammates in the process.
    • He throws the ball too hard, giving Beast Boy a black eye.
    • He throws a wrench at Cyborg, injuring his arm.
    • He trims Raven’s plant wrong, annoying her.
    • He adds pickle juice to Starfire’s face mask, resulting in burning her face.
  3. When they go to fight crimes, Cyborg straps a shock collar to Robin and puts forcefields on the doors to help Robin relax, which is taking it too far because not only does it injure Robin, it could injure people getting in. Like the mail person.
  4. Beast Boy proves he is not only a bad teammate but an animal abuser as well because he confesses to Robin he has a habit of leaving battle and does so by finding a random animal and painting it green. He not only is leaving his teammates short handed, he’s also responsible for many animal deaths. How cruel!
  5. The couch having a spirit is stupid, not only that but its also an unfunny gag that comes back in the future episode "Lazy Sunday".
  6. Apparently, the reason why Robin can’t relax because after he was abandoned at the circus as a baby, the circus animals picked on him. It was like this until Batman picked him up. While understandable, Robin doesn’t remember this because he was a baby, the reason was still stupid.
  7. Robin even ignores his teammates when he finally relaxes, which is bad.

Good Qualities

  1. The cutaway gag of Robin trying to “turn sleeping into a sport” is admittedly funny.
  2. Raven was the only one who didn’t get injured due to Robin’s carelessness.
  3. Although muddled in the episode, it does try to teach a good moral: don’t overwork yourself.
  4. Starfire making face masks was admittedly creative.
  5. Robin's backstory of the circus animals bullying him was emotional which could explain Robin's uptight behavior throughout the show.
