Gamer's Guide To Pretty Much Everything is a live-action comedy television series that premiered on Disney XD on July 22, 2015. It stars Cameron Boyce, known for his role as Luke Ross from Disney Channel's Jessie.

On January 5, 2017, series co-creator and executive producer Devin Bunje, and various members of the cast, announced on social media that the series had been canceled. Reruns continued through January 1, 2018.

Plot

Conor (Cameron Boyce), a 15-year-old video game phenom, is forced to attend high school for the first time after a thumb injury sidelines him from the glamorous pro gaming circuit. As a coping mechanism, he begins to visualize life as a video game. He is reunited with his three former gamer friends who he left behind for life on the pro circuit World Tour, and he quickly realizes that restoring his friendships is vital in his quest to “level up” to his former glory.

Why It Won The World Gaming Pro Championship

  1. Good acting, especially from Cameron Boyce.
  2. Awesome video-game-esque theme song.
  3. Decent special effects.
  4. Interesting plot with a group of friends playing in major video game tournaments while attending school.
  5. Likable characters, such as Conor, Wendell, Franklin, and Ashley.
  6. Lots of hilarious moments when the gamers try to evade school to play video games or when they try to play video games while in school.
  7. Some heartwarming moments, such as the relationship between Conor and Ashley.
  8. The setting of each location in the show looks great.
  9. The scenes where Conor uses gaming to get through his everyday routine in the promos are always entertaining.
  10. To put it simply, it's Disney XD's done-right and well-structured version of Nickelodeon's terrible show Game Shakers, and it proudly shows!

Bad Qualities

  1. Sometimes, the product placement is a bit too blatant.
  2. Similar to Seinfeld, The Amazing World of Gumball, and another comedy series that aired on the same network 2 years prior, the episodes (with the exception of the pilot episode) start with the article "The", which can get quite repetitive and unoriginal.

Trivia

  • This is the penultimate It’s a Laugh Productions show on Disney XD. Other It's A Laugh Productions shows were produced by Disney Channel.
  • Cameron Boyce (portrayer of Luke Ross), both sadly and unexpectedly for a lot of people, passed away on July 6, 2019.
