Sidekick is the 33rd episode of the 1st season of Teen Titans Go!.
Synopsis
When Robin gets called back to the Batcave as a house-sitter while Batman’s away, the other Titans show up and tease him about his sidekick status.
Why It's Also a Terrible Sidekick
- The beginning is too drawn out because it starts with Robin packing and loudly announcing that he’s leaving while the Titans have “meh” expression until he actually says where he’s going (even though the first seconds were okay), the Batcave then the Titans act like excited children and follow him. The buildup seems worthless.
- Once the Titans get to the Batcave, they act like younger children in a cool place. They go around touching everything in the Batcave.
- Robin reacting to Starfire trying on Batgirl’s suit is inappropriate.
- Plot hole: Why would Barbara Gordon (who is Batgirl) leave her suit in the Batcave?
- Soon, the Titans find a picture of Batman holding Robin as a baby and they laugh, what is so funny about it?
- The plot then gets derailed then they begin laughing at Robin being sidekick, it’s honestly hurtful and makes you feel bad for him.
- Why did Batman use an alarm (the same one that’s a crime alert) to remind Robin to feed his fish? It’s confusing, even Starfire points this out.
- The Titans also don’t listen to Robin when the Hive Five attacks and they use Batman’s weapons to fight. It’s rude they’re not even listening.
- Speaking of which, there’s this ploy throughout the episode where Robin wants no one touching the ultimate baterang but it turns it’s just a big toy. It also starts the running gag where Batman laughs like an idiot, it plays out like this. Robin is shocked Batman still plays with toys and a cutaway gag comes up where Batman and Commissioner Gordon are playing with the ultimate baterang.
- At the end, Robin says he’s not going to feed Batman’s fish and it’s very neglectful.
- Terrible Ending: Robin got scared of Batman's silhouette that turns out to be Beast Boy caring something, than after that Robin just gives up and spray's on Batman's car that "Hahaha, Joker did it".
The Only Redeeming Quality
- The Titans in the Batcave is relatable.
