Synopsis

Cyborg, Beast Boy, and Robin return from their Bro-cation and are closer than ever, but their bro-mentum is interrupted when they get trapped in the elevator.

Why It Should Be Caged

  1. Bad Title: The episode has nothing to do tigers and the episode is really named after a line spoken by Robin because when Robin, Cyborg, and Beast Boy get trapped in the Tower elevator, Robin says he feels like caged tiger. It has nothing to do with the main plot.
  2. The beginning is annoying because it starts with Robin, Cyborg, and Beast Boy screaming like shrilling toddlers because they’re excited about the vacation they just had.
    • Like the audience, Raven and Starfire are even annoyed.
    • While the boys are screaming, Cyborg transforms into a train and Robin and Beast Boy jump on Cyborg and continue screaming as the boys travel off.
  3. Then the plot devolves, the episode actually has two plots: Robin, Cyborg, and Beast Boy get stuck in the Tower’s elevator and Raven and Starfire get on Dr. Light’s good side. However, the show again proves it can’t handle two plots in episode because the transitions are very poor.
  4. The boys go into the Tower elevator and the entire plot is annoying.
  5. This is how the elevator plot goes:
    • The elevator breaks down and Cyborg can’t figure how to fix it.
    • Beast Boy drank too much water prior to the episode and has to use the bathroom.
    • The boys bicker.
    • They cry and apologize.
    • Cyborg fixes the elevator.
  6. Cyborg not fixing the elevator until the end of the episode is forced.
  7. Beast Boy urinating on the floor is disgusting.
    • Thankfully, unlike Trevor urinated in Vana's room onscreen in Pains, Sprains, and Maxum Mobiles from Sidekick, it’s not shown.
    • Also, the sounds he makes while doing the deed sounds more like he’s having an orgasm than relieving himself. It’s questionable how it got past the censors.
  8. The boys arguing feels forced because they stop rather quickly.
  9. Bad ending: The two plots tie together, Cyborg finally figures out how to fix the elevator, he fixes it, the boys finally get out of the elevator. Think Raven and Starfire are in danger even though they are not, they beat Dr. Light to a pulp as the girls freak out.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. The subplot is more enjoyable than the main plot.
  2. Starfire and Raven fight Dr. Light but realize he may have a heart after all.
  3. Dr. Light tells the girls stories from his childhood and Raven thinks Dr. Light is doing the “pull my finger” prank but his ears just light up light bulbs.
  4. Dr. Light buys the girls lunch and it’s charming.
  5. Although the ending ruined this subplot, it was still enjoyable while it lasted.
