"Snow Yellow and the Seven Jellies" (also called Snow Yellow) is an episode from season 14 of SpongeBob SquarePants.

Plot

When Snow Yellow is deemed the "squarest of them all," the evil queen Karen seeks to claim the title for herself by any means necessary.

Why It's The Squarest of Them All

  1. It was a very creative version of the Brothers Grimm fairytale, "Snow White" and the film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It is even a homage to them.
  2. This episode marks the first time Karen gets a chance to shine in a villainous role.
  3. Hans being the narrator of the story is good as a funny moment in the ending where his finger gets hurt.
  4. Great character designs such as Snow Yellow (SpongeBob)'s design, which is really cute as it is a a combination of Snow White and The Prince.
  5. The music is a spot on as usual.
  6. Many funny moments, such as when Bubble Bass gets eaten by an alligator.
  7. Good moral: Never trust any strangers or eat any food from strangers that are poisonous.
  8. The seven jellies are really funny, they are Patrick, Squidward, Mr. Krabs, Sandy, Old Man Jenkins, and Gary.
  9. Queen Karen's witch form is better than the Evil Queen's witch form and is cuter.
  10. Heartwarming ending: Snow Yellow is revived, Snow Yellow thanks the jellies for saving him and offers them to stay at his place. Everyone then has a celebration, and they all live happily ever after.

Ugly Qualities

  1. The infamous evil witch form from "Snow White" is parodied when Queen Karen tries to bring a chumball to Snow Yellow despite what reason 9 of Why It's The Squarest of Them All says.
  2. Its other title "Snow Yellow" is really bland and dull as it was only cut because of "copyright." The previous title is better as it is a more interesting reference.

Reception

This episode received positive reviews and an 8.4 on IMDb.

Trivia

  • This episode, along with "Sandy's Country Christmas," was released on the Another 100 Episodes and The Best 300 Episodes Ever DVDs, both of which were released on October 15, 2024, 27 days before airing on American television or anywhere in the world.
    • However, while the DVD releases and international airings have the original title, on TV listings and digital releases, the episode is simply called "Snow Yellow," even having a different title card on American television airings and globally.
      • The on-screen credits along with the closing credits on DVD releases and international airings call this episode "Snow Yellow and the Seven Jellies." The closing credits on digital releases call it "Snow Yellow."
  • This episode was originally scheduled for broadcast on American television on October 25, 2024 but was later pushed back to November 11, likely due to it conflicting with Nickelodeon's Halloween programming as well as the 31 Nights of Frights event.
  • This is the first episode that Ann Lee and Lucy Tanashian-Gentry were the new art directors, but they aren't credited for the role yet, as this episode was made before Peter Bennett's passing.
