Space Ghost Coast to Coast is an American adult animated parody talk show, created by Mike Lazzo and hosted by the 1960s Hanna-Barbera cartoon character Space Ghost. It is considered the first original program on Cartoon Network.

Why We're Welcome To His Show

  1. It helped kickstart Cartoon Network's original programs.
  2. The premise of a talkshow based on a obscure superhero show is interesting.
  3. The animation despite being low-budget looks great, and it has a certain charm to it.
  4. The cast of Space Ghost, Zorak, Moltar, and especially Brak are all hilarious characters.
  5. Great voice acting from Andy Merrill, C. Martin Croker, and George Lowe.
  6. The comedy, jokes and humor is often hilarious and it is one of the few examples of random, surreal comedy actually working dialog-wise.
  7. It helped revive interest in a previously obscure Hanna Barbara character.
  8. The interviews are great featuring many known celebrities such as: Billy Mitchell, Richard Gariott, The Jerky Boys and more.
  9. Harvey Birdman, from Birdman and the Galaxy Trio, shows up in a few episodes, which led to his very own show Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law.
  10. Great musical numbers, especially the theme song.
  11. It spawned several good spinoffs, such as The Brak Show, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law, Cartoon Planet and Sealab 2021.
  12. Unlike Ren & Stimpy "Adult Party Cartoon", this show has done the adult version of the original kids show concept correctly because it not only it retained the charm of the original series, but managed to be funnier and clever in correct timing.

The Only Bad Quality

  1. The Cartoon Network Productions logo at the end in Seasons 2-4 may unnerve some due to some episodes (such as "Spanish Translation", "CHiPS", "Switcheroo", "Zorak", "$20.01", and "Sharrock") using weird sound effects and the pop-up of "PRODUCTIONS".

Trivia

  • The show is mentioned in the comic Scooby-Doo Team Up. It is stated by Jace that the show was a plot by Moltar and Zorak to brainwash Space Ghost into thinking he was a talk-show host and that he snapped out of it after 8 seasons.
