Splash Entertainment, LLC. (formerly known as Mike Young Productions, Inc. and MoonScoop Entertainment, LLC) is an American animation studio that produces children's TV series. They are best known for the critically panned Norm of the North, as well as the Butt-Ugly Martians, the Bratz TV show and direct-to-DVD movies. Splash also controls the streaming service Kabillion.

Why They and Their Movies Don't Splash

  1. Very ugly and weak CGI animation to the point where films like Alpha and Omega and Norm of the North look like a Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo GameCube or an Xbox video game.
  2. They've produced some pretty bad animated movies, especially Norm of the North and its sequels.
  3. Quantity Over Quality: They don't run their franchises properly, as they make sequels of movies that were already largely panned in the littlest of time possible. Very recently, here is what they have done:
    • Three Norm of the North sequels (a fourth sequel was in development before getting cancelled)
    • Three Alpha and Omega sequels (Including four more done by Crest Animation)
    • Three Rock Dog sequels
    • In the company's earlier years, they made eight direct-to-DVD Bratz movies.
  4. Unfunny, immature, and gross humor which tries too hard to be funny (in a company for kids, by the way) including but not limited to:
    • Norm of the North has Norm twerking.
    • Norm of the North: Family Vacation involves a scene where Norm kisses a child in his and Elisabeth's bed, which gives off pedophilia implications in a kids film.
    • Bratz relies on the fourth wall breaks that make the characters look like idiots.
    • The Butt-Ugly Martians relies on gross-out humor.
  5. Poor French and English voice acting with unfunny and stupid dialogue, especially in the Norm of the North sequels where almost all of the voice actors of the original films were replaced by voice actors from Canada.
  6. Made horrible shows like Pet Alien, Bunny Maloney, The DaVincibles, among others.
  7. Ugly character designs, mostly not because of how they're drawn (or in the case with the CGI characters, modeled), it's because of the films/show's CGI animation.
  8. They like to needlessly include underwear, swimsuit, swim trunks or bikini in almost every film, for kids films, by the way, which is considered sexualization.
  9. Bad musical scores.
  10. The characterization in their films and shows are poor since they are filled with many unlikable characters who are overuse of stereotypes and poor role models, especially in the last three Alpha and Omega sequels where the protagonists of the original films were replaced by their children (the Pups) as the main stars while the existing characters in the two franchises were flanderized.
  11. Some of their films, much like Crest Animation, heavily relies on nonsensical and inconsistent writing with tons of plot-holes and extreme uses of anachronism in their CGI sequels that have been milked for money as if the writers have never done any research on the settings the franchises set in before they wrote their scripts. They also barely have any originality, as they even steal stuff from other media like for example:
  12. Their CGI films and shows often have recycled many plot points, assets, and characters from another one of their properties, for example, the shopkeeper in the Bratz TV show episode The Chronicles of Karma, who uses the same model as Mandy from the Passion 4 Fashion DVD movie and Norm's son Quinn from Norm of the North: Keys to the Kingdom reuses young Norm's model from the first Norm of the North movie.

Redeeming Qualities That Splash

  1. Even though they do a poor job with CGI animated shows and movies, their 2D and Flash animated shows are actually decent. A few examples include:
    • Clifford the Big Red Dog as well as its spinoff Clifford's Puppy Days
    • Chloe's Closet
    • Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes
    • Woody Woodpecker (2018)
    • Lalaloopsy, its spinoff We're Lalaloopsy
    • Growing Up Creepie
    • Code Lyoko
    • Zevo 3
    • Funky Cops
    • Hero 108
    • Fishtronaut
    • ToddWorld
      • Some of their shows like the Bratz TV show do have some good/decent episodes and were also decent.
  2. They dubbed the French animated series Code Lyoko into English quite well.
  3. Some of their shows and movies have good/decent voice acting.
  4. They've made a few decent CGI animated shows, like:
    • Jakers! - The Adventures of Piggley Winks
    • The Twisted Whiskers Show
    • Strawberry Shortcake's Berry Bitty Adventures
    • Care Bears: Welcome to Care-a-Lot/Care Bears & Cousins, which makes the Bears more cuddly and furry than ever before.
    • Not only that, but there's even some decent CGI animated films such as some of the Bratz DVD movies and Rock Dog 2: Rock Around the Park.
  5. Some likable characters can be occasionally found here or there, especially for ToddWorld.
